How sanctions on Russia are hurting U.S firms developing nuclear plants

 

Oct 20, 2022 American firms developing a new generation of small nuclear power plants to cut carbon emissions have run into a big problem. Only one company sells the fuel they need and that is Russian. U.S government, in search of an alternative, is now looking to use some of its stockpile of weapons-grade uranium for the reactors. The government hopes to kick-start an industry that it sees as important to meet its emissions goals.
