The Watchman On The Wall

The Watchman On The Wall
Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Verse 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Dear Friends,

I hope you're chock full of turkey (The American Spectator's noble mascot) and all the other Thanksgiving delectables.

This year, I did a dry brine for the first time. Usually, I soak the bird in salt water and some other things. Instead, I pulled a recipe from Paris Hilton's cooking show. Yes, she has one. No, she cannot cook. That's the premise. A rich girl who has always been fed learns to cook. Anyway, I'm sharing the recipe with you here because it turned out so great that it's going to be my new go-to:

Salt 1/2 Cup
Sugar 1/2 Cup
Ground black pepper 1/4 Cup
Garlic Powder 1/4 Cup
Dried Thyme 1/4 Cup
Dried Oregano 1/4 Cup
Dried Sage 2 TBSP
Dried Rosemary 2 TBSP
Paprika 2 TBSP

Rub this all over, in and out, place in fridge uncovered, overnight.

Next day, take a soft stick of butter and grease down the skin, under the skin.

Cut 1 apple, 1 lemon, 1/2 onion and put in the bird.

Pour 1 1/2 cup of white wine (I used red) into the bottom of the pan.

NOTE: The thing that scared me is that it seemed like all the fluid came out of the turkey came out after the brine and that I'd end up with Chevy Chase's turkey from Christmas Vacation. I went with it, though. Turkey turned out fine and flavorful. Loved it and it produced a spicy gravy that was also excellent. Highly recommend!

Thought I'd share it here in case you were cooking another turkey for Christmas.

More than the food, I hope that the family gatherings were conducted in peace and love.

I know some people had like-minded gatherings because family relationships were difficult. I hope that heals.

Children's Booklist
Domestic Terrorism in Waukesha
 & Other Missing News

A BLM supporter mowed down over fifty people walking and dancing in a Christmas Parade. Video of the event shows that it was purposeful and with the intent to harm.

Children hit have died. Dancing grandmas were instantly killed. It was a mass murder by a convict repeatedly let out of jail and given low bonds. He had used a vehicle to hit someone before.

The perpetrator has been charged with, as of this hour, six murders.

The story is already out of the national news. The attack was on November 21st. The story is a week old. Gone.

Lots of stories that matter are out of the headlines because they're inconvenient to the leftist narrative.

Want an example? The Afghanistan evacuation that revealed the lie of the Biden administration: there are still Americans in Afghanistan awaiting evacuation. There are still U.S. allies fearing for their lives. It's not a misplaced fear. Lots of people have been murdered by the psychotic regime in Afghanistan.

How about the terrorist/murderer in Colorado? What? Don't remember the "mentally ill" Muslim man who mowed down ten people at a Jewish grocery store? Well, he was indicted for ten murders in September. September, 2021. You'll be forgiven if you didn't recall that it happened. It was in the news for two, yes two, days.

Please remember that the news you read is often what some editor wants you to read. It is news, would be front-page news, but news that doesn't either help the Democrats or support the Leftist narrative so it goes away immediately. If those two factors are involved, the story will disappear, never to be seen again.

This phenomenon happens over and over and because of our technology, we're easily distracted by the latest thing. For example:

OMICRON
Nothing else matters but the latest COVID variant. This story is meant to distract you. You're supposed to forget the inflation that is killing your budget at the gas station and grocery store. You're supposed to forget the two tiers of justice in America. You're supposed to forget the Americans in Afghanistan. You're supposed to ignore all sorts of inconvenient stories.

My high school basketball coach always said to "watch the numbers", meaning to not be thrown by a head fake or ball fake or false first step. Watch the numbers. They don't lie.

So, my advice during this time of misinformation, or more likely, missing information, is this: Watch the numbers. Think of what you're not reading, seeing. Remember the stories the media wants you to forget.
Movie Recommendations

Over the weekend, I saw two movies. Both I highly recommend.

The Most Reluctant Convert: The Untold Story of C.S. Lewis is well worth your time. Bring you atheist friend, too. It's a beautiful movie that I just happened across when looking for movies to see. It's been held over through November due to popular demand and word-of-mouth. I felt moved and hopeful after the movie.

Dune Now, I saw this movie the weekend it was released. I decided that I wanted to see it again and so I did. It is a rare movie that is even better the second time. My friend and I discussed why that might be. We posit that as fans of the book, we were concentrating on the changes the movie made and got lost in trees a bit. Watching it a second time was fantastic. See it on the big screen, again, before it's gone.
Remember Juicy Smolliet

Juicy's trial is starting. Remember, he created a race hoax in Chicago and our brilliant Vice President Kamala Harris accused the white people of the country of being racists. All that needs to be said about Jussie's repugnant actions was said by Dave Chappelle.

Here's the amazing and wonderful Representative Swalwell opining before Juicy's hoax was exposed:

What happened to Jussie Smollett is vile and tragic; thankfully, he will recover. But hate crimes like this are happening more frequently, egged on by careless hate-filled rhetoric. We start reducing these crimes by rejecting the speech - neither can ever be accepted as normal.

Watching the World

Things to watch:

  • Germany appeasement of Russia
  • Germany forced vaccination
  • Australia forced vaccination (and quarantine camps)
  • China's Belt Road initiative making vassal states throughout Africa, Europe, South America (aside, we worried about Russia's activities, China is mostly unchecked)
  • Ethiopia's Nile Dam. All of Africa politics is about to shift.
  • Poland being squashed between Russia and Europe. Again.
  • China's internal economic turmoil
  • South China Sea and Chinese aggression
  • Control of the North Pole
  • America's increasing energy reliance and rejection of nuclear power/forced economic misery to induce Green New Deal
  • Hyperinflation is about to become a thing in the U.S. and maybe the world
Where Your Heart Is

The IRS wants to know where every dollar of your money goes. Why? Because it's indicative of where your heart resides. As I write this, Yellen says that she wants bank surveillance back in the Big Bad Biden legislation.

This sort of law will be the bane of every American but it will be especially troubling for small non-profits like The American Spectator. One of the Left/Government's dreams has been to have access to all big donors. They want to name, shame, and bully. But it's the individual, middle class, middle-level givers who really can be oppressed (rich people have teams of attorneys) by the government.

It won't be just God who knows where your treasure is, if Democrats have their way. Since guys like Fauci inhabit the government, they feel like God. He is science, after all. The bureaucracy is filled with these uninhibited potentates.

God has a more flat bureaucracy. He, alone, knows your heart and knows where your treasure resides. His mercy extends far beyond that which a Democrat IRS agent is capable of.

We are in a country where people are choosing the state over God. The hour is late and most won't understand the mistake they've made til they, personally, suffer at the state's hands.

In the meantime, while relative freedom still exists, we need to fight to keep it. That means places like The American Spectator letting people know what Biden and Yellen plan.

This is the one day of the year that I'll ask, but I'm asking you to continue to put your heart and treasure into our reporters and commentators' work. We're making a difference, shifting discussions, and shedding light on the stories that the leftist media wants to ignore and leave behind.

God loves a cheerful giver and so do we! Happy Warriors, we thank you! And we'll fight like badgers to expose the Left's machinations using the IRS against Americans.
