1 Thessalonians 5:3 (KJV)
For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden
destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they
shall not escape.
Daniel 9:27 (KJV)
And he (the anti-christ) shall confirm the covenant with many for one week:
and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to
cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate,
even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the
desolate.

Nancy Pelosi
calls Hamas a humanitarian organization; is a low IQ a requirement for Senate
leadership?
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) says the
United States must look to Qatar, an ally of the terrorist group Hamas and arch
enemy of Israel, for advice in resolving the Gaza-Israeli conflict. "And
we have to confer with the Qataris, who have told me over and over again that
Hamas is a humanitarian organization." Qatar is a strong supporter and
funder of Hamas. Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal operates from Qatar, and has so
far rejected ceasefire proposals put forward by Egypt and promoted by Secretary
of State John Kerry. The U.S government designated Hamas as a “foreign
terrorist organization” in 1997. Its founding charter calls for Jews to be
killed and says all Muslims are duty-bound to join a jihad to destroy Israel.
President Obama found numerous ways to make the United
States less relevant in the last six years, but he came up with a new one in
his misbegotten foray into the Gaza war: He’s so wrong that even Israel feels
it’s safe to ignore him. The decision by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to
reject Obama’s pressure for a unilateral cease-fire and instead widen the
campaign against Hamas reflects a new low in the Obama presidency. More
important, it is impossible to argue with Netanyahu’s decision. The terror threat
is so grave that Israeli military leaders, bolstered by strong public support,
believe they can’t return to business-as-usual. They aim to deliver a knockout
punch to the rocket arsenal and the tunnel network to make sure Hamas doesn’t
emerge intact and ready for another war.

Norman Finkelstein
seems to be another Jew who opposes Israel.
At noon on
Tuesday, 29 July 14, 24 people were arrested in Midtown during a protest against the
ongoing Israeli offensive in Gaza. Over 100 people had gathered for the event,
organized by professor and author Norman Finkelstein,
who had posted a message to his website stating that if 100 people committed to
an act civil disobedience, it would take place at the Israeli mission at the UN
in New York City on Tuesday.
“I don’t believe
in individual acts of martyrdom,” Finkelstein wrote on Monday, on his website. “It’s got
to be a collective action. If one hundred people either sign up to get arrested
or to be there in solidarity, I’ll be there too.”
One hundred signed up and met at the corner
of 2nd Avenue and 42nd Street (“Yitzchak Rabin Way”), and after chanting “The
Whole World is Watching! Stop the Carnage Now!” for 20 minutes, the group
proceeded to 43rd street, where about 40 lay down across the crosswalk. Police
were quick to intercede, announcing that whoever didn’t want to be arrested
should leave. They then arrested the 24 remaining protestors.
Thank you Hamas!
In case anyone still thinks the
two-state solution is a good idea... Former adviser to Iran’s defense minister
said this week that Tehran would seek to arm Palestinians in the West Bank with
“strategic weapons” including missiles to target Tel Aviv and Haifa. Iranian
researcher Amir Mousavi told Lebanon’s Mayadeen TV channel that “a major
reshuffle awaits the region” as “new and significant fronts will be opened all
of a sudden, to support the Palestinian cause in the West Bank and Gaza.” “A
new front must be opened from the West Bank, after it has been armed,
especially with missiles,” because we know very well that the distance between
the West Bank and Tel Aviv, Haifa, and other areas is much shorter than the
distance from Gaza. Therefore, simple means are required. There is no need for
long-range missiles. Short-range missiles can change the entire picture in the
occupied lands.”
Mousavi added that Gaza would
also receive increased military support from Iran. As for the Palestinian
Authority which controls the West Bank and has in recent years cooperated
closely with Israel on security issues, Mousavi remarked: “We hope that the brothers
in the Palestinian Authority will help rather than impede this.” On Tuesday
Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei urged the Islamic world to arm
Palestinians to allow them to counter what he called Israel’s “genocide” in the
Gaza Strip. In a speech marking the Muslim festival of Eid al-Fitr, Khamenei
said Israel was acting like a “rabid dog” and “a wild wolf,” causing a human
catastrophe that must be resisted. “The US president issued a fatwa that the
resistance is disarmed so that they cannot respond to all those crimes
(committed by Israel),” the supreme leader said, referring to Barack Obama’s
call for the “disarmament of terrorist groups and the demilitarization of
Gaza.” “We say the opposite. The world and especially the Islamic world should
arm… the Palestinian people.”

Cor Pan and MH17 |
Why was an
Israeli named Yaron Mofaz doing taking a picture of MH17, at the same place and
time as passenger Cor Pan's final photo?
On July 17,
2014 a man by the name of Cor Pan took what is thought to be the last known
picture of MH17, taken just hours prior to it crashing. He uploaded the image
to his facebook (FB) page after taking a picture of the aircraft prior to boarding,
with a joking message about "if the plane goes missing, this is what it
looks like" referring to the recent MH370 disappearance. This post &and image were added to his FB page a few hours before the plane crashed in
Ukraine, and Cor Pan was reportedly one of the victims of the incident.
Why does it seem Israeli Mossad agents are present when terrorist incidents occur. Mossad agents were present at the WTC on 9/11 2001 and at Sandy Hook. Did Yaron Mofaz and his fellow Mossad agents plant a bomb on MH17?
Barry Chamish submitted the following
article.
chamishba@gmail.com
On July 20, ten days after Operation
Protective Edge was launched against Gaza, the Defence Minister who threw the
Jews out of Gaza in '05 had this to say: The ongoing defensive
operation in Gaza has renewed discussion of the 2005 Disengagement, Israel’s
unilateral withdrawal from the region. Mofaz oversaw the withdrawal as the
then-Defense Minister. Mofaz argued that despite recent events, he still
believes the Disengagement was a good idea.
Speaking from the entrance to Soroka hospital, where he was visiting soldiers wounded in Operation Protective Edge, Mofaz claimed that the unilateral withdrawal from Gaza saved “hundreds” of lives.

(Watchman comment: Mr. Defence Minister
the 2005 withdrawal caused the current casualties and future withdrawals will
cause increased casualties in the. Israel is between a rock a hard place and a
tunnel.)
The sad irony is, at the current count, over a thousand Arabs and Jews have been killed in the current "operation," with many more to come. Mofaz failed to mention is that his son Yaron just happened to be in Amsterdam on July 17 photographing the Air Malaysia jet before it was blown out of the sky.

Mofaz failed to mention is that his son Yaron just happened to be in Amsterdam on July 17 photographing the Air Malaysia jet before it was blown out of the sky.
The issue is, this isn't the only final image of MH17... A man by the name of Yaron Mofaz, who is a former employee of ISRAIR, one of Israel's largest airlines based out of Tel Aviv, Israel, and the son of the former Israeli Minister of Defense Shaul Mofaz (Current Opposition Leader) just so happened to also snap a shot of MH17 that day in Amsterdam. Not only did he happen to snap a shot of this (at the time) uneventful aircraft; he also happened to take his picture at almost the exact same time and in almost the exact same position as passenger/victim Cor Pan took his "final" shot.
In-case you didn't notice Cor Pan's Image & Yaron Mofaz's Images of MH17 are in fact DIFFERENT IMAGES (99% similar, but if you really look you will notice the differences).
-slightly different angles (try overlapping to see for yourself).
-slightly different time (see shadow for example)
-look to the right of the tail above the plane on both images.
-look at the cables below the plane in both images.
...(there are more differences but you get the point)...
So with this in mind, my questions are...
1. Why is Yaron Mofaz the son of Shaul Mofaz current Israel Opposition Leader & Former Minster of Defense,(who was not a passenger on the plane like Cor is said to be and is still alive today) taking a picture of MH17 in Amsterdam for Reuters just prior to the plane taking off and being "shot" down mid flight, becoming international news?
2. Why is Yaron Mofaz's image almost identical in time/position to the "said to be confirmed" victim Cor Pan's famous last shot of MH17?
3. Why is the media passing both images off as if they are the same image, when they are in fact not?
4. WHY AREN'T PEOPLE GOING NUTS ABOUT THIS...???
Shaul Mofaz has served in the following Ministerial roles
2002–2006: Minister of Defense
2006–2009: Deputy Prime Minister
2006–2009: Minister of Transportation
2012: Vice Prime Minister
2012: Minister without Portfolio
Other roles
1998–2002: Chief of Staff of the IDF
2012: Leader of the Opposition
2012–2013: Leader of the Opposition
So what? So Yaron took a "lucky" photo at a dreadful but historic moment, however, his father is a member of the New World Order (NWO).
Baruch Goldstein |
Shlomo Mofaz was appointed the new Defence Minister only after his was indoctrinated for several months in Washington. He learned the NWO ropes at Martin Indyk's notorious "think" tank, The Washington Center For Near East Studies.
Shlomo Mofaz was also linked to
Baruch Goldstein, the alleged shooter at the Hebron massacre in 1994.
Goldstein met a high-ranking intelligence officer
named Shlomo Mofaz, brother of our Chief-Of-Staff on the day before the
massacre?"A former Hebron resident, a lady, added information on the Shabak frameup of Baruch Goldstein, the innocent patsy for the Hebron massacre of 1994. "You should know that Baruch didn't go straight into Yitzhak Hall and shoot it up. First he stopped in Avraham Hall and told the Jewish worshipers there that he had met with a high-ranking IDF officer, Shlomo Mofaz the day before and Shlomo told him to prepare for an Arab massacre of Hebron's Jews. After that he left the hall and supposedly went on a shooting rampage.
"The whole thing didn't make sense then and today it looks even more like Baruch was manipulated by Mofaz. If the IDF knew about an impending massacre, then it would have sent in troops to stop it, not warn Baruch that it was coming. More and more it looks like Mofaz was the mastermind of the massacre and Baruch his stooge and patsy."
Lest we forget, the current Gaza conflict
was initiated by the highly suspicious deaths of three Israeli teenagers. Remember the NWO/Illuminati always use war to advance their agenda.
But why fret over a few settlers killed
when the resulting war will cause such vicious worldwide anti-semitism that
they'll be replaced by masses of new immigrants running from ugly assaults into
the waiting arms of left-wing, peace loving Labor Zionists?
The Mofaz clan was always on the front
lines of bloodshed.
Shlomo organized the Hebron massacre
of '94.
Shaul oversaw the Jews of Gaza deported in
'05.
Yaron was there to witness the take-off of
the bloody end to an Air Malaysia flight, diverting the world’s attention from
the war in Gaza and directly caused by his father's removal of Jews from Gaza. The
circle is complete.
If only the Arabs of Gaza and the settlers
of Judea and Samaria understood that they share the same enemy and suffer
equally from Labor Zionism.
When you go searching for the truth, you
will undoubtedly find yourself up against a wall at some point - a wall which
cannot be scaled or circumvented, but only passed through, like Alice's
looking-glass. You will surely reach a point at which you must think the
unthinkable, for no one ever reached the truth by ignoring difficult questions
or refusing to consider ideas which lifted them out of their comfort zones.
I am fortunate to be part of a group of friends who excel at this; who are experts at seeing behind the Ephesians 6:12 curtain. We shared a very interesting conversation about recent events and some hypothetical questions arose:
What if the hours' delay in reporting the Israeli kidnapped boys' disappearance was not a royal foul-up? Why would there even be a policy in place where the person who took the emergency call had to run it up some chain of command? What if they were anticipating something like this and the delay was all part of some master plan? What if the Arabs are right about some of this kidnapping? Maybe "Jews" did kidnap the kids. Maybe the kidnapping was a ploy to enable the government to eliminate Hamas operations in Judea and Shomron; to eliminate the PA "unity government," as the Arabs are claiming. Why did the government keep reiterating that phrase "we're operating under the assumption that the boys are still alive?" (when they already knew they were dead.)
Most people expected there to be a claim of responsibility and a demand for a prisoner exchange because that's what made sense. Now Israeli sources are saying the kidnappers' plan was always to kill the boys immediately. What did the kidnappers stand to gain from that? If it was for a shock factor, why hide the bodies? Why use silencers? It doesn't seem to fit the Arabs' modus operandi, does it? I kept coming back to why the boys would willingly enter a car with two people who looked so obviously Arab (from the pictures we've been shown), but then I reasoned, well, if they wore kippot and it was dark, maybe they didn't look closely enough. Then, I thought, well, we don't even know that these are the kidnappers. All the papers are reporting is that these are the "suspected" kidnappers since they went missing, reportedly, at the same time the boys disappeared. And if the families say otherwise, who will believe the Arabs? They lie so much, you can't believe anything they say. Then there is the story the boys were murdered by football/soccer club thugs.
The “lame stream” media has been having a field day manipulating public opinion and sentiment with its reportage of half-truths, innuendo and outright falsehoods.
According to my Israeli friends there is a young Israeli named Binyamin, who has autism and who receives "messages from Heaven" and who has been proven right time and time and time again. And he says that it is part of a master plan, plotted in secret. The Pope's most recent visit to Israel is part of the conspiracy. The Israeli Erev Rav regime handed over Kever David to "Edom." According to Binyamin the Arabs did not kidnap and murder our boys (any more than they brought down the Twin Towers). I believe the same people who kidnapped and murdered our boys, also kidnapped and murdered the Arab boy from Shuafat.
All of these events, including the renewed missile fire from Aza, has been orchestrated by NWO to sow fear and panic in Israel so that we will welcome the UN and an international "peace-keeping" force that will take over Israel.
Does it sound too crazy to be believable? Do you know who is arriving today to "help" broker a cease-fire? The NWO foreign ministers of Italy and Germany! EDOM AND AMALEK!!!
...Even though the Security Cabinet has yet to officially discuss an initiative to offer $50 billion in economic aid to Gaza in return for the demilitarization of the Strip, Lebanese media claimed Sunday evening that Israel has already presented the offer to the international community.
...The Lebanese Al Mayadeen television channel reported that the Israeli leadership wants international guarantees, like the ones provided as part of the agreement to remove chemical weapons from Syria.
Every time there is a "flare-up of hostilities" between Israeli and the Arabs, the NWO is looking for that little hole by which they can worm their way in and take control.
Just like it's true that they made a secret deal to give away Kever David!
Zohar HaKadosh wrote…...In the future the children of Ishmael will stir great wars in the world. And the children of Edom [the West] will gather against them, and make war with them, one on the sea, and one on the land, and one by Jerusalem; and each one will prevail over the other but the Holy Land will not fall to the hands of Edom.
At the same time, a nation from the end of the world will be awakened against wicked Rome. And it will make war against her for three months, and many nations will gather there, and they will fall by her hand, until all the children of Edom will gather against her from all corners of the earth. And then G-d will awaken Himself against them, as it says, a "a sacrificial slaughter for the Lord in Batzra", and it says, "to shake the corners of the Land".
And after this, the children of Ishmael will be finished from the world. And all the supernal powers of the nations will be broken, and no power will remain above except for the power of G-d and Israel alone.

The United Nations is unequivocally guilty of aiding and
abetting Hamas and therefore bears significant responsibility for the death
innocent Israelis and Gazans. The three IDF soldiers who were killed on
Wednesday in Gaza, were killed when explosives detonated within a booby-trapped
UN building in Khan Younis. An elite IDF tunnel unit was in the process of
uncovering an opening to a Hamas tunnel located at an UNRWA (United Nations
Relief and Works Agency) health clinic when all of a sudden the explosives
detonated, causing the entirety of the building to fall on top of the soldiers.
Neither the UN nor UNRWA have commented on the incident that resulted in the
deaths of three Israeli soldiers. The IDF has previously provided video
evidence that Hamas fires rockets from inside schools and it is also known that
Hamas has also been using UNRWA schools as storage sites for its rockets. For
the third time in recent days, such a stockpile was discovered in a UN school
Tuesday.
After the first
finding of rockets at an UNRWA school, it was reported that rather than
destroying the rockets, UNRWA workers called Hamas to come remove them. While
it would not comment on the deaths of the three soldiers, UNRWA was quick to
place blame on Israel for a rocket strike on one of their schools in Gaza. The
UN agency also immediately blamed Israel for a strike on Gaza’s Shifa hospital,
resulting in the deaths of over a dozen Gazans. It was later revealed that in
all likelihood, a misfired Hamas Fajr-5 Iranian-made 100kg warhead destined for
Israel had struck the hospital. Deputy Foreign Minister Tzahi Hanegbi said
Wednesday that UNRWA has continued to hand the missiles back to Hamas,
“endangering and jeopardizing Israeli lives.” “Instead of blaming and
condemning Israel, UNRWA should make a real effort to stop being manipulated
and used by the terrorist organizations,” he said.
Demi Lovato is the latest
professing Christian (and celebrity) to declare that, "The LOVING God that
I believe in, would never condemn anyone for loving another human of the same
sex."
What's the next step on this slippery theological slope?
I predict it will be: "The LOVING God that I believe in would never condemn anyone." Just watch and see.
We know that one of the greatest strengths of the "gay Christian" movement is that there are lots of really nice people who are same-sex attracted, and some of them profess deep faith in Jesus and are active in compassionate and sacrificial service to the poor and needy.
How could a loving God condemn people like them?
I personally find that to be a very powerful question—one that I have agonized over before my heavenly Father many times. In fact, I honestly believe that if questions like this don't cause us some level of pain then we don't really have the heart of the Lord.
But here's the problem: It's not just same-sex attracted people we're talking about.
I personally know many fine individuals who are ultra-Orthodox Jews. In fact, as human beings go (meaning, we're all flawed and lacking), some of them are exceptional people, fearing God, seeking to keep His commandments, willing to give their lives for their faith, pouring into their families, studying the Scriptures and their traditional writings, and praying for hours every day.
How could a loving God send people like that to hell?
But it's not just Orthodox Jews. Some Muslims are exceptional human beings (most Muslims are not suicide bombers), as are some Hindus and Buddhists and atheists and others, including secular Jews and Mormons and people of all kinds of faiths and non-faiths.
Some are extremely kind and generous. Some are very patient and long-suffering. Some will give you the proverbial shirt off their backs.
How could a loving God send people like that to hell?
It was not that long ago that Steve Chalke, then recognized as a top evangelical leader in England, came out against the concept of substitutionary atonement (the idea that Jesus took the penalty for our sins on the cross), declaring it to be "cosmic child abuse." (Chalke also had a big problem with the idea that God actually required blood to appease His wrath, basically rejecting inspired teachings of the Torah as accommodations to pagan religion.)
Last year, he declared his support for committed, same-sex relationships within the church, calling on other believers to stand with these same-sex couples.
Is that really such a big surprise? And where will Chalke eventually land on the subject of future punishment for the lost, given his current stands? (I understand that Chalke has done a tremendous amount of good over the years in the U.K., with some even calling him the "Billy Graham of the U.K.," which makes his theological backsliding even more painful.)
A breakdown in one area of theology leads to a breakdown in another area of theology, and over time, these kinds of breakdowns—specifically, minimizing aspects of God's wrath, failing to grasp the depth of human sin, affirming committed homosexual relationships—will lead to universalism (or, at least universal reconciliation, a related but slightly different concept).
Rob Bell is another example of this, although proceeding in a little different order, first questioning concepts of future punishment in his Love Wins book and then affirming his support for same-sex couples in the church.
But this is just a variation of the same theme, one that allows us to sit in judgment of God, and, based on our standards of right and wrong, determine what His standards should be. The biblical way, of course, is the exact opposite.
According to Steve Chalke, the traditional teaching of God's wrath being poured out on His Son on the cross "stands in total contradiction to the statement 'God is love.'"
But couldn't it be just as easily argued that any type of future punishment for the lost, especially if it does not result in their ultimate salvation, "stands in total contradiction to the statement 'God is love'"?
After all, why would a loving God punish someone or judge someone when there's no hope of their redemption? Wouldn't that be utterly cruel?
And what about all the nice people who don't believe just as we do? Are they eternally lost? And let's not forget all the "gay Christians" (by which I mean those who claim to follow Jesus and practice homosexuality at the same time). Surely a loving God would not condemn nice people like them.
Do you see the pattern?
In a previous article, I pointed out that, although not an absolute rule, "with consistency, you'll see that as a church group gets more liberal, they become pro-abortion, pro-gay activism, and pro-Palestinian (at the expense of Israel)."
In the same way, as churches and church leaders become more embracing of committed, homosexual couples, they will move further and further away from the preaching of future wrath and divine judgment, ultimately embracing universalism in one form or another.
As I said, watch and see. And don't forget to pray that our loving God would deliver them from error and bring them back to the truth as it is found in Jesus.
What's the next step on this slippery theological slope?
I predict it will be: "The LOVING God that I believe in would never condemn anyone." Just watch and see.

(Chalke also had a big problem with the idea that God actually required blood to appease His wrath, basically rejecting inspired teachings of the Torah as accommodations to pagan religion.)
We are heading down an End Times slippery slope at rapidly. I predicted some time ago that next people would want to marry their animals and children. Well, we are close, I just learned there animal brothels in Germany. I will leave it at that.
Lookout Jews here comes the bus |
You know there’s
something going on when Haaretz, the flagship of the Israeli left, reads like it’s being
edited by Dick Cheney. Last Friday Secretary of State John Kerry presented the
Israeli cabinet with a draft of a ceasefire agreement that could have been
penned by Khaled Meshal. It was everything Hamas could have hoped for. The
draft and I quote “recognized Hamas’ position in the Gaza Strip, promised the
organization billions in donation funds and demanded no dismantling of rockets,
tunnels or other heavy weaponry at Hamas’ disposal.”
The Obama
Administration proved once again that it is the best friend of its enemies, and
the biggest enemy of its friends.
Obama’s big
theory of the Middle East seems to be that Israel is the least popular kid in the
lunchroom, which means that it is lucky to have the United States as any kind
of friend at all. But what neither the president nor his secretary of State
appear to have noticed is that the least popular kid among Middle Eastern
leaders isn’t Bibi—it’s Obama. While self-infatuated postering may be the key
to popularity among a certain segment of the president’s daughters’ peer group,
it tends to go over badly with world leaders who face real threats—and who feel
that America regularly lies to them. Cairo was so angry that Kerry involved its
regional rivals Qatar and Turkey in discussions over what new Egyptian
president Abdel Fattah al-Sisi considers a vital national interest that it
refused to send its foreign minister to meet with Kerry in Paris.
Not
surprisingly, the Palestinian Authority, in whose name Obama and Kerry are
supposedly acting, was also furious with the administration. Mahmoud Abbas’
Fatah party released a statement critical of the White House as well
as his intra-Palestinian rivals: “Those who want Qatar or Turkey to represent
them should leave and go live there.” The reality is that the ceasefire makes
plain what the United States’ traditional regional partners have long feared:
Obama is lining up against America’s traditional friends in the Middle East,
with Jerusalem directly in the crosshairs.
It’s at times like this that Israel could use a powerful
friend in Washington. When Israel is at war with a terrorist group that plotted to
send hundreds of its members through tunnels to slaughter and kidnap thousands
of Israelis this coming Rosh Hashanah, and the White House proposes a ceasefire
agreement that works to the advantage of the terrorists, it makes you wish
there was a large, well-funded lobbying organization that wasn’t afraid to
remind the White House of the overwhelming American support for Israel among
both Jews and Christians.
When the
secretary of State is off cavorting with the foreign minister of Turkey, which plans to send another “aid” flotilla to Gaza, and whose
prime minister recently accused Israel
of “barbarism that surpasses Hitler,” it makes you wish there was a well-oiled
pro-Israel outfit with some ace political fixers and analysts in its pocket and
an outsized reputation for fearlessly lobbying both Congress and the executive
branch.
When European governments and Arab states
like Egypt, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and Jordan—and even the Fatah
government in Ramallah—are more in sync with Jerusalem about current events
than the White House, it makes you wish there was someone able to get the
president of the United States on the phone to remind him that the Israel-U.S.
alliance is one of the pillars of American Middle East policy, and that
abandoning that alliance will de-stabilize region, but then Obama and his
Illuminati pals want to de-stabilize the region.
When Israel
endures a decade of rocket fire from Hamas and world opinion calls Jews the
aggressors, when European streets are filled with pro-Hamas demonstrators, and
anti-Semites see an opportunity to drive France’s
Jewish community out of the country, it makes you wish there was
some big broad-shouldered American institution holding the line against the
world’s increasing racist enmity toward Israel and the Jews. It would tell the
White House, whispering first in its ear and then more loudly if necessary,
“OK, that’s enough. America stands for something better than the prejudice and
savagery embodied by the political players you say you trust.”
John Kerry was
determined to broker a deal that would not only bring about a ceasefire but
also preserve his failed peace process. The problem with his attempt to rescue
his own public profile and salve his wounded ego was that he didn’t study the
region carefully enough: Both Israel and Egypt consider the Muslim Brotherhood
and its Palestinian iteration Hamas to be serious threats to their own national
security, and it is hard to say that the fears of both governments aren’t well
founded. Both Israel and Egypt found Kerry’s proposal way too favorable to
Hamas. (Indeed, Kerry had told Hamas
via a Qatari intermediary that many of the Palestinian terrorist group’s
demands would be met.) That was too much for Kerry, who can’t stand to be left
in the corner at the dance. As the secretary showed last week when a live mic
caught him on Fox News saying “we have to get over there,” Kerry needs to be in
the mix, to be holding important press conferences in foreign capitals and
shaping big events. Accordingly, when Israel and Egypt showed Kerry the door,
the only place left for him to go was Turkey and Qatar—who back Hamas. Now, so
does John Kerry.
And yet here’s
the key point. For all Kerry’s preening and apparent naiveté, he wasn’t
freelancing. Rather, as administration officials made clear, the secretary was implementing the
president’s agenda, which is finally less about Turkey and Qatar, which are
secondary actors, than it is about Iran. True, Tehran and Hamas’ political
leadership have been on the outs since their disagreement over the Syrian civil
war, with Iran standing behind Assad and Hamas leaders like Khaled Meshaal,
once based in Damascus, finding it impossible to support Assad’s slaughter of
fellow Sunnis. However, Hamas’ current campaign is being directed not by Meshaal, but rather, as the New
York Times’ Steven Erlanger Tweeted last
week, by the military commanders on the ground. As Jerusalem Center for Public
Affairs research associate, and (Ret.) Brig. Gen. Shimon Shapira told me, “Iran
bypassed Hamas political leadership and reached out directly to the military
commanders.” Hamas’ campaign therefore is effectively an audition to show Iran
that it’s a more than useful deterrent against Israel.
The effect of Kerry’s ceasefire draft then
is not simply to leave Hamas with a de facto victory—its arsenal will remain,
as will the tunnels not yet destroyed, and it can boast of closing down Ben
Gurion for 48 hours and can repeat the performance any time it likes. The point
is to balance Iran against Israel.
With the
P5+1’s interim agreement signed with Tehran in January, the White House
acknowledged Iran’s right to enrich uranium. Now the Kerry ceasefire draft
shows the administration is willing to stab Israel in the back as many times as
necessary in order to secure any kind of agreement with Iran—regardless of the
fact that Israel considers the Iranian nuclear program to be an existential
threat. Israel needs to defeat Hamas to protect its own people, from missiles
and tunnels, and from a future Iranian nuclear bomb. The White House doesn’t
want an Israeli victory in Gaza, lest that threaten the White House’s strategic
goal of reaching an accord with Iran, which backs Hamas. So, on both the
ego-driven and larger geo-strategic levels, Washington’s dog in the Gaza fight
isn’t Israel. It’s Hamas.

To help save the economy, the Government will announce next month that the
Immigration Department will start deporting seniors (instead of illegals) in
order to lower Social Security and Medicare costs. Older people are easier to
catch and will not remember how to get back home. I started to cry when I
thought of you. Then it dawned on me ... oh, shoot ..... I'll see you on the
bus.
Be sure to send this to your kids or
relatives also so they know what happened to you! J
