"Ukraine War SITREP, Russia Continue To Kick Ukraine's Butt"

Front Highlights for Aug 2nd, 2022.

 

Chernihiv Region on center left

Russian Armed Forces stuck AFU positions near Myhal'chyna-Sloboda in Chernihiv Region.

▪️ In the northern Kharkiv Region, positional fighting and mutual shelling continue.

▪️ During the night, Russian forces struck AFU’s facilities in Kharkiv, Chuhuiv and Bohodukhiv district. Russian Aerospace Forces hit the positions of Ukrainian formations in Staryi Saltiv.

▪️ Russian Armed Forces managed to gain a foothold on the eastern outskirts of Soledar, securing a bridgehead for a further offensive deep into the city. Fighting is taking place in Bakhmuts'ke.

▪️ Russian troops liberated Semyhir'ya near Vuhlehirsʹka TPP, and advancing further towards Kodema, upper center on map below.

▪️ Allied Forces break up AFU defence in the suburbs of Donetsk. In Pisky, Ukrainian formations suffer heavy losses and retreat from the fortified positions.

▪️ AFU’s 21st Battalion of the 56th Motorized Brigade came under "friendly" fire while retreating in the direction of Vodyane.

▪️ Ukrainian formations once again shelled towns in the Donetsk agglomeration and continue using Butterfly Mines (PFM-1), which are extremely dangerous for the population.

Zaporizhzhia Region

▪️ In Zaporizhzhia Region, artillery duels continue. Russian Armed Forces struck enemy positions in Zaliznychne, Mala Tokmachka, Kam'yans'ke and Novoandriivka.

▪️ In the morning, Russian forces launched several missile strikes on facilities in Mykolaiv and hit AFU garrison in Mykolaiv V.O. Sukhomlynskyi National University, pictured below in the center

▪️ Russian units also targeted a deployment point of Foreign Legion mercenaries. A large number of enemy manpower and military equipment were eliminated.

▪️ In the evening, Russian Armed Forces struck AFU positions in the Chervonohrad district of Lviv Region, pictured below.

▪️ Other missile strikes targeted Vinnytsia. Ukrainian air defence failed to protect AFU facilities.
