Many economists are predicting that high levels of unemployment will be with us for some time. Time magazine predicts we will be "Unemployment Nation" while a recent AP article predicts: "High Jobless Rates could be the New Normal."
These predictions stem from the economic rule known as Okun's Law. Economist Arthur Okun stated that when an economy grows, it produces jobs at a predictable rate, and when it shrinks, it sheds them as a similar regular pace. But the American economy is shedding jobs much faster than Okun&'s law predicts. That has economists concerned.
The total number of nonfarm jobs in the U.S. economy is about the same as it was in 1999. If we experience moderate growth (as predicted by the Federal Reserve) that means we could be in for a decade without any significant expansion in employment.
If you look at the previous times of significant unemployment, they come in two types. The Reagan recession ended with workers returning to jobs that were the same or similar to the ones they lost. But the Great Depression in the 1930s was an example of a structural change. The jobs people lost (mostly in agriculture) never came back. Workers instead had to move to industry. Economists believe that our current recession looks more like the latter than the former.
Those proposing government work projects like those in the 1930s better reconsider according to Time. "In the 1930s, you could throw 10,000 people with shovels at dam or road projects. Today the work of 10,000 shovels can be done by a few machines-and it was a lot easier to persuade farmers to switch to ditchdigging than it would be to get laid-off hedge-fund traders to switch to sewer repair, appealing as such an idea might be."
Finding solutions to our current employment problem will be difficult. But one thing we can know for certain, we don't need more government spending and borrowing that will kill economic growth and economic recovery. I'm Kerby Anderson, and that's my point of view.

When Will The U.S. Default On Its Debt?
How much debt can a country have before it will default on its debt? Economist Kevin Hassett has collected the data for various countries and put it on a chart. (The U.S. is the red bar on the Hassett's chart.)
The chart compares the external debt (debt held by foreigners) of the U.S. to the external debt of middle-income countries that experienced default (or restructuring) between 1970 and 2001. The debt is scaled by GNP, and reflects the total debt outstanding in the year of default. The conclusion is chilling. The current U.S. debt is now higher relative to our national income than it was for the typical middle-income countries that defaulted on their debt during the 31 years of this sample. For example, there were so many Latin American countries that defaulted, that the chart aggregates all of the countries in the single category. Although Latin America has acquired a reputation for fiscal instability and fiscal insanity, we can see from the chart that the U.S. is now in worse shape than the typical Latin American country that defaulted.
Actually there are only two countries that defaulted who racked up more debt than the U.S. These countries were Jordan in 1989 and Egypt in 1984. This is not exactly the countries we would like to be compared to.
I realize that it is hard for any of us to imagine that one day, we will wake up to find that our country is bouncing checks. At the moment, foreign lenders are still willing to attend our Treasury auctions and continue to fund our country. But Kevin Hassett says that it is certainly possible that a precipitating event might change their attitude towards America and we would begin to default, like these others countries has done in the past.
So what might be such a precipitating event? Kevin Hassett says that one likely candidate would the passage of a massive expansion of entitlements. He believes this could easily set off the kind of panic that has devastated debt markets in the past.
Members of Congress, are you listening? I'm Kerby Anderson, and that's my point of view

Generosity And Compassionate Conservative Christians
Who are the most generous in America? The common assumption behind many articles and columns is that liberals are more compassionate than conservatives, and secularists are more compassionate than Christians. Yet every piece of evidence suggests just the opposite.
First, let's look at it on a statewide basis. The Catalogue of Philanthropy each year creates an index of generosity. The stingiest states in the U.S. are New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Connecticut, and Maine. These are all liberal northeastern states with relatively small Christian populations. Vermont is the most secular state in the union. The most generous states are Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama, Tennessee, Louisiana, and South Carolina. These are conservative Bible belt states.
Another way to look at it would be to consider the generosity toward a tragic event, like Katrina hurricane. One article written a year after Katrina documented the stark difference in giving. It praised Christian compassion and outreach, even mentioning Pat Robertson's Operation Blessing. But is also quoted University of Tennessee professor Glenn Reynolds that "when you look at who was providing relief after Katrina, there's not much in the way of secular humanism to be found."
Finally, we can look at the work of Arthur Brooks at Syracuse University. His book, Who Really Cares: The Surprising Truth about Compassionate Conservatism, documents in detail the giving patterns of various ideological and religious groups.
He has found that conservatives are more charitable than liberals. He has also found that religious people are more compassionate than secularists. He has found that religious people (mostly Christians) "of all persuasions are 40 percent more likely to donate to charities each year than secular people, and more than twice as likely to volunteer. They are also more than three times more likely than secular people to give each month, and three and one-half times as likely to volunteer that often."
He even breaks down religious giving in a more significant way. If you compare the religious right to the religious left, you find that the religious right is more charitable and compassionate than the religious left.
This research is contrary to the prevailing viewpoint presented in the media and needs to be spread far and wide. I'm Kerby Anderson, and that's my point of view

Obama's Ten Commandments
After observing Obama on the campaign trail and during his first ten months in office, we have concluded that our President lives and governs according to his own set of "Ten Commandments." They're certainly NOT the Ten Commandments you learned in Sunday School. In fact, many are the direct opposite!
I. Thou shalt have no God in America, except for me. For we are no longer a Christian nation and, after all, I am the chosen One. (And like God, I do not have a birth certificate.) SOURCE
II. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, unless it is my face carved on Mt. Rushmore. SOURCE
III. Thou shalt not utter my middle name in vain (or in public). Only I can say Barack Hussein Obama. SOURCE
IV. Remember tax day, April 15th, to keep it holy. SOURCE
V. Honour thy father and thy mother until they are too old and sick to care for. They will cost our public-funded health-care system too much money. SOURCE
VI. Thou shalt not kill, unless you have an unwanted, unborn baby. For it would be an abomination to punish your daughter with a baby. SOURCE
VII. Thou shalt not commit adultery if you are conservative or a Republican. Liberals and Democrats are hereby forgiven for all of their infidelity and immorality, but the careers of conservatives will be forever destroyed. SOURCE
VIII. Thou shalt not steal, until you've been elected to public office. Only then is it acceptable to take money from hard-working, successful citizens and give it to those who do not work, illegal immigrants, or those who do not have the motivation to better their own lives. SOURCE
IX. Thou shalt not discriminate against thy neighbor unless they are conservative, Caucasian, or Christian. SOURCE
X. Thou shalt not covet because it is simply unnecessary. I will place such a heavy tax burden on those that have achieved the American Dream that, by the end of my term as President, nobody will have any wealth or material goods left for you to covet.

Pat Buchanan Attacks Obama's Views
Pat Buchanan said, Barack says we need to have a conversation about race in America. Fair enough. But this time, it has to be a two-way conversation. White America needs to be heard from, not just lectured to.... This time, the Silent Majority needs to have its convictions, grievances and demands heard. And among them are these:
First, America has been the best country on earth for blacks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known. Jeremiah Wright ought to go down on his knees and thank God he is an American.
Second, no people anywhere has done more to lift up blacks than white Americans. Untold trillions have been spent since the ' 60s on welfare, food stamps, rent supplements, Section 8 housing, Pell grants, student loans , legal services, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax Credits and poverty programs designed to bring the African-American community into the mainstream. Governments, businesses and colleges have engaged in discrimination against whites -- with affirmative action, contract set-asides and quotas -- to advance black applicants over white applicants. Churches, foundations, civic groups, schools and individuals all over America have donated their time and money to support soup kitchens, adult education, day care, retirement and nursing homes for blacks. We hear the grievances. Where is the gratitude??? Barack talks about new 'ladders of opportunity' for blacks. Let him go to Altoona and Johnstown, and ask the white kids in Catholic schools how many were visited lately by Ivy League recruiters handing out scholarships for 'deserving' white kids. Is white America really responsible for the fact that the crime and incarceration rates for African-Americans are seven times those of white America? Is it really white America 's fault that illegitimacy in the African-American community has hit 70 percent and the black dropout rate from high schools in some cities has reached 50 percent? Is that the fault of white America or, first and foremost, a failure of the black community itself? As for racism, its ugliest manifestation is in interracial crime, and especially interracial crimes of violence. Is Barack Obama aware that while white criminals choose black victims 3 percent of the time, black criminals choose white victims 45 percent of the time? Is Barack aware that black-on-white rapes are 100 times more common than the reverse, that black-on-white robberies were 139 times as common in the first three years of this decade as the reverse? We have all heard ad nauseam from the Rev. Al about Tawana Brawley , the Duke rape case and Jena. And all turned out to be hoaxes. But about the epidemic of black assaults on whites that are real, we hear nothing. Sorry, Barack, some of us have heard it all before, about 40 years and 40 trillion tax dollars ago. We are a Christian Nation even if Mr. Obama says we are not.

Prayers For The Victims Of The Beirut Bombing
At 6:25 local time on the morning of October 23, 1983, agents of the ayatollah used a suicide bomber to plow a truck filled with explosives into the U.S. Marines barracks in Beirut, Lebanon. The attack resulted in "the largest non-nuclear explosion that had ever been detonated on the face of the Earth," according to a U.S. federal court judge who found the Islamic Republic of Iran guilty of perpetrating the crime. Locked doors on a building nearly three hundred feet away were ripped off their hinges. All the trees in the surrounding area were stripped completely bare of their leaves. The windows in the control tower at Beirut's international airport were blown out. And the four-story cement and steel Marine facility collapsed into fifteen feet of rubble, ash, and smoke. Please pray this week for those Marines who were wounded and traumatized during that Iran-ordered attack. Please also pray for the family and friends of those Americans who were killed. Pray that those responsible would find justice, and that the victims would experience God's full mercy and comfort.
The Looming Wireless Capacity Shortage
Holman Jenkins, writing in the Wall Street Journal, suggests we may be headed for a mobile meltdown. This should concern you if you have an iPhone, Blackberry, or any sort of smart phone.
He begins by talking about net neutrality and he makes the point that net neutrality is quickly becoming a non-issue because of what is happening in the wireless world.
Let me give some background. The development of certain applications has changed the way we receive the Internet. Jenkins points out that it was the development of Napster that drove the shift from dialup Internet service to wired broadband service. He now says that Apple's iPhone is now driving the explosive growth in wireless service.
This explosive growth may now create a problem. Holman Jenkins believes we are headed for a possible "shortage of wireless capacity to meet enthusiastic consumer demand." Consider just this one fact about wireless service. "A single YouTube viewing consumes nearly 100 times as much cellular bandwidth as a voice call."
OK, now put this one fact with this one statistic. In Asia, some 200 million people already watch video on their smartphones. Add to that everyone in North America, and you can see why we could have a mobile meltdown.
So what is being done to prevent a meltdown? First, the FCC is talking about freeing up more of the broadcast spectrum in order to handle the load of mobile computing.
Second, we need to build more cell towers. The biggest obstacle here is what everyone calls NIMBY not in my backyard. Isn't interesting that the same people who complain about cell phone coverage are often the same people who don't want a cell tower near their house?
Freeing up spectrum and building more towers are two positive steps to prevent a mobile meltdown.

Bad Things Happen When God's Chosen People Are Attacked
Several months ago I said the Lord might strike down or incapacitate Ahmadine"jihad". Then there was election unrest in Iran. Now there is a rumor Khamenei may be seriously ill or dead.

Apparently Our "Dear Leader" Has Not Read The Constitution
While most of the current debate about health care reform has focused on its cost, some members of Congress are talking about whether these bills would be constitutional. Senator Orrin Hatch raises a number of important questions in a recent editorial.
He notes that for the first time, "the federal government would be ordering Americans to buy a particular product or service they had not chosen to purchase." He is talking about the requirement that individuals purchase health insurance. The nonpartisan Congressional Research Service concluded that this is an unprecedented constitutional issue.
Another constitutional problem with this mandate is that the penalty for failing to purchase health insurance is not a tax but a penalty. The Senate Finance Committee bill says it is an excise tax, but it is really a fine assessed against those who do not buy insurance.
Senator Hatch says this matters "because the Constitution requires that a direct tax be apportioned among the states based on population." An analysis published in the BNA Tax Report confirms that the penalty imposed on people "who don't buy health insurance would be an unapportioned direct tax in violation of the Constitution."
And another provision in the Senate Finance bill would impose an excise tax on the sale of high-premium insurance plans and provide relief from that tax for insurers in certain states. Once again, this appears to be in violation of the Constitution since it requires that excise taxes be "uniform throughout the United States." This tax cannot be uniform if it varies from state to state and gives preference to those states that are fortunate to have senators who serve on the committee and can write exemptions for those states.
Senator Hatch concludes by pointing out that it is "tempting to brush the Constitution aside to pursue political objectives, to let the ends justify the means. But if politics trumps the Constitution, the Constitution cannot limit government and, therefore, cannot protect liberty."
The senator is raising important constitutional issues. Congress should listen.

The Clash Of Civilizations
The Grand Mufti was a close friend of Hitler. He was also Arafat's uncle. The Grand Mufti was indicted as a WWII war criminal. The Muslim SS Division in the Balkans slaughtered over one million Serbs during WWII.
When I am called to speak on Global War On Terrorism one of the first questions I ask is this. What do the following nations have in common? Nigeria, Sudan, Kenya, Algeria, Somalia, Bosnia, Hamastan, Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, Yemen, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Thailand, Indonesia, The Philippines and Chechnya. They all contain Muslims who cannot live in peace with their non-Muslim neighbors. I do not think this is an accident. Islam is an exclusive not an inclusive religion. Muslims divide the world into two camps The House of Islam and House of War. Anyone who is not in the House of Islam is at war with Islam. This is not a voluntary choice.
5 Newspapers Endorse Bob McDonnell
In the last four days, five newspapers across Virginia have endorsed Bob McDonnell's positive campaign, praising his specific plans and innovative solutions to create jobs, control spending, improve our schools and roads, while keeping taxes low.
Newport News Daily Press (which endorsed Tim Kaine in 2005): “Virginia needs a disciplined hand at budget control. That advantage goes again clearly to McDonnell.”Northern Virginia News and Messenger: “McDonnell is the man with the plan”The Winchester Star & Harrisonburg Daily News-Record: “The Republican nominee has studiously cobbled together plans and solutions for Virginia.”Northern Virginia Sun –Gazette Papers: “….there is one candidate who has given thought about how he plans to lead the Old Dominion out of current economic conditions. Robert McDonnell.”
Meanwhile, The Washington Post endorsed Creigh Deeds, praising him because “Mr. Deeds has called for new taxes,” “has unequivocally committed himself to support higher taxes” and “would support legislation to raise new taxes.” These endorsements demonstrate even further how stark the differences are in the crucial Virginia race

Just Shut Up If You Live In D.C.
Redefining Marriage in D.C. by Kerby Anderson
The city council of the District of Columbia faces many challenges. So it is difficult to understand why they are considering a bill legalizing same-sex marriage. And it is even more disturbing that the DC residents will most likely be shut out of their deliberations.
Consider that voters in 30 states went to great lengths to define marriage as a bond between one man and one woman. Yet the DC City Council seems ready to redefine marriage in the nation's capital without granting the residents the opportunity to express their will in the matter.
Recently I had Bishop Harry Jackson on my radio program. He is Senior Pastor of Hope Christian Church in Washington, D.C. and Chairman of the High Impact Leadership Coalition. He was not only concerned about the bill the city council was considering but also upset that the co-sponsors of the bill announced they would not allow the people of the District of Columbia to vote on this landmark decision.
The fact that gay rights were being compared to black civil rights did not escape the notice of the African-Americans present. Dr. Henry Gaston, President of the Missionary Baptist Conference of Washington, remarked: "in the name of advancing one group's civil rights, the city council is abridging my community's right to vote. Anyone familiar with the historic civil rights movement knows that 'the right to vote' not 'the right to marry' was the gold standard of civil rights privileges."
Bishop Jackson believes this battle in D.C. has ramifications for the rest of the country. First, if the city council legalized same-sex marriage, Jackson notes this will be the first decision for gay marriage below the Mason-Dixon line. Second, a victory in the District of Columbia will strengthen gay marriage advocates in Maryland and Virginia.
Bishop Jackson says that there 1200 churches in the D.C. area that have decided to work to protect marriage. These are churches under black, white, Hispanic, and Asian leadership that have a heart for traditional marriage and the family. They need our support and our prayers.

Obama's Birth Certificate Back In Court 26 January 2010
The Department of Justice attorneys walked into court expecting United States Federal District Court Judge David Carter to dismiss the birth certificate case. Why you ask? Simply because they “think” Obama is President. Their arguments were hollow and unconvincing. and after hearing hours of argument, the Judge Carter “took the matter under submission.” He has still not issued a ruling, 10 days later
Is The President Above The Law and the Courts? DOJ attorneys tried to explain to the Judge that no Court in the United States had the jurisdiction to rule on whether Barack Hussein Obama was eligible to serve as President of the United States? In their view he could only be impeached and/or disqualified from the Office of President under the 25th Amendment to the U. S. Constitution. NOT TRUE! USJF pointed out to the Court that both the impeachment statutes, and the 25th Amendment required a sitting President, but if Mr. Obama is not eligible to serve as President, he could not be, and never was, a sitting President, so those options for removal could not apply. Therefore the courts would have jurisdiction. HELP US MAKE BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA PROVE IF HE IS ELIGIBLE TO SERVE AS PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES: CLICK HERE NOW! Monday, October 5, 2009, , at 8:30 a.m., in California, was a critical milestone for our entire legal and public relations effort to force Barack Obama to produce his birth certificate and to prove whether he is eligible to serve as President of the United States. And with your support USJF was able to be there to argue the case. The case has an excellent chance to survive the Department of Justice (“DOJ”) motion to dismiss what has proven to be the best chance for America to have a hearing on the merits of this critical Constitutional issue. What happened that day in Court? It’s very simple—the DOJ attorneys brought up every argument that they could to try to persuade the Court to dismiss this case USJF provided sound legal arguments against the DOJ legal theories; otherwise the whole case could have been over right then and there! The USJF oral arguments will be the difference between this case surviving or being dismissed. The Judge raised issues critical to our case:

The USJF oral arguments will be the difference between this case surviving or being dismissed. The Judge raised issues critical to our case:
1. Did Senators question the eligibility of Mr. Obama? (Only Senators Coburn and Shelby and a number of House members.)
2. Were objections made by Members of Congress when the vote of the Electoral College was certified? (NO, then Vice-President Cheney had not performed his required duty of asking for objections, so there could have been none raised.) DOJ attorneys argued that only Congress, and/or the Electoral College, could decide on the eligibility of Mr. Obama. Fortunately, the USJF legal team filed pleadings pointing out that the DOJ legal arguments in this regard WERE WRONG! People at the hearing and those who have found out what happened there since have been contacting USJF, thanking us for standing up for the truth! But the fight is not over yet! We expect a ruling from the Court any day now. If we defeat the dismissal motion, then we’re immediately filing pleadings (“discovery”) seeking Mr. Obama’s birth certificate, his college records, and so much more. AND, we’ll be seeking to depose Mr. Obama ASAP! And if the Court grants the motion to dismiss, we’ll be immediately filing an appeal of the decision! But we can only do this if we have your financial support! Judge Carter has set a trial date of January 26, 2010 in this case. To keep that date, we need to defeat the DOJ dismissal motion, and then, IMMEDIATELY, move right into the discovery phase discussed above.
The Axis Of Idiots

Jimmy Carter, you are the father of the Islamic Nazi movement. You threw the Shah under the bus, welcomed the Ayatollah home, and then lacked the spine to confront the terrorists when they took our embassy and our people hostage. You're the "runner-in-chief."
Bill Clinton, you played ring around the Lewinsky while the terrorists were at war with us. You got us into a fight with them in Somalia and then you ran from it. Your weak-willed responses to the USS Cole and the First Trade Center Bombing and Our Embassy Bombings emboldened the killers. Each time you failed to respond adequately, they grew bolder, until 9/11/2001.
John Kerry, dishonesty is your most prominent attribute. You lied about American Soldiers in Vietnam . Your military service, like your life, is more
fiction than fact. You've accused our military of terrorizing women and children in Iraq . You called Iraq the wrong war, wrong place, wrong time, and the same words you used to describe Vietnam . You're a fake! You want to run from Iraq and abandon the Iraqis to murderers just as you did to the Vietnamese. Iraq, like Vietnam , is another war that you were for, before you were against it.
John Murtha, you said our military was broken. You said we can't win militarily in Iraq . You accused United States Marines of cold-blooded murder without proof and said we should redeploy to Okinawa . Okinawa, John? And the Democrats call you their military expert! Are you sure you didn't suffer a traumatic brain injury while you were off building your war hero resume? You're a sad, pitiable, corrupt, and washed up old fool. You're not a Marine, sir.. You wouldn't amount to a good pimple on a real Marine's ass. You're a phony and a disgrace. Run away, John.
Dick Durbin, you accused our Soldiers at Guantanamo of being Nazis, tenders of Soviet style gulags and as bad as the regime of Pol Pot, who murdered two million of his own people after your party abandoned Southeast Asia to the Communists. Now you want to abandon the Iraqis to the same fate. History was not a good teacher for you, was it? Lord help us! See Dick run.
Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Carl Levine, Barbara Boxer, Diane Feinstein, Russ Feingold, Pat Leahy, Barack Obama, Chuck Schumer, the Hollywood Leftist morons, et al, ad nauseam: Every time you stand in front of television cameras and broadcast to the Islamic Nazis that we went to war because our President lied, that the war is wrong and our Soldiers are torturers, that we should leave Iraq, you give the Islamic butchers - the same ones that tortured and mutilated American Soldiers - cause to think that we'll run away again, and all they have to do is hang on a little longer. It is inevitable that we, the infidels, will have to defeat the Islamic jihadists. Better to do it now on their turf, than later on ours after they have gained both strength and momentum.
American news media, the New York Times particularly: Each time you publish stories about national defense secrets and our intelligence gathering methods, you become one united with the sub-human pieces of camel dung that torture and mutilate the bodies of American Soldiers. You can't strike up the courage to publish cartoons, but you can help Al Qaeda destroy my country. Actually, you are more dangerous to us than Al Qaeda is. Think about that each time you face Mecca to admire your Pulitzer.
You are America 's 'AXIS OF IDIOTS.' Your Collective Stupidity will destroy us. Self-serving politics and terrorist-abetting news scoops are more important to you than our national security or the lives of innocent civilians and Soldiers. It bothers you that defending ourselves gets in the way of your elitist sport of politics and your ignorant editorializing. There is as much blood on your hands as is on the hands of murdering terrorists. Don't ever doubt that. Your frolics will only serve to extend this war as they extended Vietnam. If you want our Soldiers home as you claim, knock off the crap and try supporting your country ahead of supporting your silly political aims and aiding our enemies.
Yes, I'm questioning your patriotism. Your loyalty ends with self. I'm also questioning why you're stealing air that decent Americans could be breathing. You don't deserve the protection of our men and women in uniform. You need to run away from this war, this country. Leave the war to the people who have the will to see it through and the country to people who are willing to defend it.
Our country has two enemies: Those who want to destroy us from the outside and those who attempt it from within.

Obamacare Taxes The Sick
Tax the Sick by Kerby Anderson
Dick Morris recently wrote a column in which he argued that the latest plan to pay for the health care reform bill was to tax the sick. That seemed like a rather extreme charge to make. However, as I read the details of the plan, I realized that it would indeed tax the sick. I trust that this part of the plan gets tossed out quickly.
What was proposed in the Senate bill was to increase the threshold of deductibility of medical expenses. Currently taxpayers may deduct any medical expense that exceeds 7.5 percent of their Adjusted Gross Income. The proposed plan would raise that to 10 percent for taxpayers under age 65.
This change in policy would affect eight million Americans. They are poor enough and sick enough that their expenses exceed 7.5 percent. And it turns out that six million of them make less than $75,000 a year. This change would increase their taxes by hundreds of dollars (and in some cases more than a thousand dollars or more).
You might ask why members of Congress would propose a policy that would harm people in the middle class who are sick. There are three reasons. First, it would be a way to generate more income. The initial estimates are that this simple change in the tax laws would raise $20 billion over ten years. Second, most Americans wouldn't notice this change, at least not until they filled out their taxes.
But the third reason is the most telling. Democrats are defending the proposal because they believe it would discourage health care spending. They believe people are spending more than they need to spend on medical tests and services. Some proposals attempt to limit the number of tests physicians might prescribe. This proposal attempts to limit the amount a patient would be willing to spend on their health.
I believe this is a flawed assumption. The vast majority of Americans who spend more than 7.5 percent of their income on health care are doing so because they are sick and need to do so. They aren't doing it because they like to spend money at doctor's offices and hospitals.
Mopping Up Iran
We may be closer to a showdown with Iran than most people think...here's the most recent news: The Pentagon is speeding up delivery of a colossal bomb designed to destroy hidden weapons bunkers buried underground and shielded by 10,000 pounds (4,535 kilograms) of reinforced concrete. Call it Plan B for dealing with Iran, which recently revealed a long-suspected nuclear site deep inside a mountain near the holy city of Qom. The 15-ton behemoth - called the "Massive Ordnance Penetrator," or MOP - will be the largest non-nuclear bomb in the US arsenal and carry 5,300 pounds (2,400 kilograms) of explosives. Pentagon officials acknowledge that the new bomb is intended to blow up fortified sites like those used by Iran and North Korea for their nuclear programs, but they deny there is a specific target in mind.
The question is speeding up delivery to whom? I hope and pray it is going to Israel.

More And More Citizens Not Paying Taxes

How much do you pay in taxes each year to Uncle Sam? If you are like most of the people who call my radio program, you believe that you pay too much in federal taxes.
What about the people who pay no taxes? The latest research estimate shows that 47 percent of households will not owe any federal income tax. And some in this group will even get additional money from the government because they qualify for refundable tax breaks.
The number of households with zero tax burdens is increasing and may eventually reach 50 percent. And that should be of concern to Americans considering the economic future of this country. We are in the midst of significant debates about increasing spending in such areas as health care and the environment. Earlier in this decade we had debates about tax cuts, and now are having debates about increasing taxes on the wealthy. And we are even having discussions about whether the tax code is too progressive or not progressive enough. Yet we rarely discuss the trend that an increasing number of households will owe nothing in federal taxes.
Does it make sense that half of the nation that does not pay taxes will decide how much the other half of the nation should pay in taxes? Will they be more willing to vote for more government benefits since they do not have to pay for it? George Bernard Shaw once said: "The government who robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul."
In many countries in the Middle East, oil revenues fund the government, and the citizens pay no taxes. Since they don't have any "skin in the game," they are less involved as citizens. What will happen in the U.S. if a majority of Americans don't pay taxes? I think a reasonable assumption will be that citizen apathy will increase.
You could argue that many who pay no federal taxes do pay some form of taxes, usually payroll taxes that support Social Security and Medicare. But we should be concerned that while the cost of government is increasing, the pool of taxpayers is substantially decreasing.

Jean Schmidt Endorses Issue Two
tact
ISSUE 2 IS GOOD FOR OHIO
On November 3rd, voters will go to the polls to vote on local and state ballot issues. As a member of the House’s Committee on Agriculture, I am particularly interested in Issue 2, which will determine how best to regulate livestock farming in Ohio. While this may not seem like an important issue, it is vital to Ohio’s agriculture community and to Ohio families already struggling to put food on the table.
Passage of Issue 2 would establish the Ohio Livestock Care Standards Board. The Board will decide the policies and best practices for the care and treatment of farm animals in Ohio. The Board will be appointed by the Governor and State Legislature and will include family farmers, farming organizations, veterinarians, consumers, food safety experts, a representative of the humane society and a Dean of an Ohio Agriculture College. In short, this Board would be responsible for ensuring that livestock farming is conducted in a safe and humane manner.
Activists from outside the State have threatened to push their own initiative under the guise of “protecting animals.” While these groups talk of noble intentions, the fact remains that, in states where they have successfully enacted their initiatives, family farms have been driven out of business and the cost of food has increased.
I grew up on a small farm and am honored, through my position on the House Committee on Agriculture, to work each day with farmers from across my district, Ohio and the country. Ohio’s family farmers work very hard to make sure we have the food we need to feed our families. The animals they raise for human consumption are their top priority. They work hard to make sure that the animals are healthy and safe for our families.
The livestock and poultry producers from Ohio are hard working, intelligent business people, who know the welfare of their animals is of paramount importance. They are diligent about the health and welfare of animals -- not only for their bottom line and the safety of consumers, but because it is the right thing to do.
The opponents of Issue 2 will tell you that this ballot initiative is being pushed by big agri-business. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Ohio Farm Bureau represents family farmer’s interests here in Ohio and in Washington. They ensure that farmers have a voice in the policies and regulations that affect them daily.
I have endorsed Issue 2 and urge all Ohioan’s to support this much needed ballot imitative. It is the best way for the people of Ohio to decide how we regulate farming in our state.

Pray From 14 October To November 4 - Election Day
In 2007 in California, thousands of Believers fasted for a 40-day period and prayed that God would restrain the spiritual powers that are behind the homosexual agenda and the drive to redefine marriage. Three days before the vote on Proposition 8, 30,000 people gathered together in solemn assembly to invoke Heaven's assistance in the great heavenly battle, as well as to pray for God's power to be released for the freedom and healing of thousands struggling with same-sex attraction who yearn to be transformed by Christ. Proposition 8 was upheld through the incredible mobilization of the state and we believe through divine assistance as well.
Partnering with Heaven
Recently again, I have been challenged by the Lord in a profound way to raise up a wall of intercession to hold back the encroaching ideology. Ezekiel 22:30 says, "I looked for a man who would build up a wall, and stand in the gap before Me." I have started to pray out of this Scripture that God would begin to rise up a stonewall of intercession. Forty years after the Stonewall Riots, that many point to as the beginning of the homosexual revolution in America, we are calling for a spiritual stonewall to be raised up all across the nation. I've been asking God "How do we build this stonewall?"
Recently, I was asked by national Christian leaders and pro-family leaders in Maine to call the whole state of Maine and all of New England to fast and pray for 21 days, which just started on October 14th and goes through November 4th, Election Day. Maine will be voting on whether or not to legalize same-sex marriage. No state has of yet voted for same-sex marriage when the people themselves have gone to the polls. States that have legalized it have done it through the tyranny of courts and lobbyist pressured legislatures. Maine is the next battlefield. Like California, there is a great mobilization effort on both sides. Prayer could be the winning blow. Daniel fasted 21 days and shifted the influence over the very kings of Persia partnering with the angelic realm (Daniel 10:12-14).
Build a Stonewall
Therefore, we are calling for prayer and fasting across the nation for 21 days in another flash point stand of spiritual resistance. During this fast which started October 14th (Daniel 10:12-14), let the Churches of America turn from their own personal compromise with sin and from an apathetic silence. Let us cry out to God for the state of Maine and lift the victory of the Cross over every false ideology. Then, let us cry out to God for a great awakening in Maine, New England and the Nation. There are no more tomorrows. For such a time as this we are to build a stonewall and stand in the gap.

Sorry Charlie No More Sun Kist Tuna For Me
SNOPES" VALIDATES THE FACTS BELOW :
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi's home district includes San Francisco. StarKist Tuna's corporate headquarters are in San Francisco, Pelosi's home district. StarKist is owned by Del Monte Foods and is a major contributor to Pelosi. StarKist is the major employer in American Samoa employing 75% of the Samoan work force. Paul Pelosi, Nancy 's husband, owns $17 million dollars of StarKist stock. In January, 2007 when the minimum wage was increased from $5.15 to $7.25, Pelosi, just like a corrupt, elitist socialist, had American Samoa exempted from the increase so Del Monte would not have to pay the higher wage. This would make Del Monte products less expensive than that of its competitors. Last week when the huge bailout bill was passed, Pelosi added an earmark to the final bill adding $33 million dollars for an "economic development credit in American Samoa "
Pelosi called the Bush Administration "CORRUPT" and many other things !!! How do you spell "HYPOCRISY" Pelosi? ?SHE'S SHAMELESS!

McDonald Gun Case Heading To Supreme Court
Obama's Anti-Gun Agenda Heads To Supreme Court
Chicago Gun Ban Case to Determine Gun Rights For All States
The U.S. Supreme Court announced that it will hear the case of McDonald v. City of Chicago, and decide whether the right to keep and bear arms secured by the Second Amendment protects Americans from overreaching state and local governments. The Supreme Court case is of paramount importance to American citizens, to see that their constitutional rights are respected not only by the Congress, but by state and local governments. Obama made public his clear anti-gun agenda in March 2004 in Chicago. Obama voted against Illinois Senate Bill 2165 allowing citizens the right to protect themselves and for local ordinances against handgun possession. The measure passed the Illinois Senate by a vote of 38-20 without Obama's vote. STOP Obama's Anti-Gun Agenda now before he can appoint any anti-gun judges. The Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) is delighted to bring this case in cooperation with the Illinois State Rifle Association and the four local plaintiffs. We are in this fight because a gun ban is no less onerous to civil rights in Chicago than it was in the District of Columbia. Such a law cannot be allowed to stand unchallenged. Protecting our gun rights is expensive and it's impossible to put a price tag on. This time freedom will cost $250,000 to defend your Second Amendment rights in this challenge to the Chicago gun ban. SAF stands firmly committed to defend these rights and we are asking you to stand with us and we need your help to stop the anti-freedom extremists now! We urgently need you to demand that all State Attorneys General file an Amicus Brief stating they agree that the individual right to keep and bear arms is protected by the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution and applies to all 50 states. The case was brought on behalf of four Chicago residents, the Second Amendment Foundation, and the Illinois State Rifle Association. Last year, in the landmark case of District of Columbia v. Heller, the Supreme Court held that the Second Amendment guarantees an individual right to keep and bear arms. However, as that case concerned the actions of the District of Columbia government, a federal entity, the high court was not called upon to decide whether the right bound states and local governments. Over the years, almost the entire Bill of Rights has been held to apply to state and local governments by incorporation of the Fourteenth Amendment. "The freedoms we enjoy as Americans are secured to us against violation by all levels of government," noted Alan Gura, of Gura & Possessky, PLLC, lead counsel for the McDonald plaintiffs. "State and local politicians should be on notice: the Second Amendment is a normal part of the Bill of Rights, and it is coming to your town." Otis McDonald, a Chicago resident since 1952 who led the fight to integrate his union local in the 1960s and is a plaintiff in the case, welcomed the news. "I am grateful the Supreme Court has agreed to hear this case," McDonald said. "I now pray that the Court secures me and all other law-abiding citizens the right to defend ourselves and our families." FAX All 50 State Attorney Generals Now and Donate The $250,000 NeededFor SAF To Defend Second Amendment Rights At The Supreme Court!https://secure.responseenterprises.com/saf_faxag/?a=3084 Chicago attorney David Sigale commented, "The City of Chicago cannot take from millions of Americans the fundamental freedom of self-defense in one's own home. We are confident the Court will stand on the side of the law-abiding citizens and the Bill of Rights." "We're pleased to hear that the Supreme Court has decided to take a look at Chicago's gun laws," added ISRA President Don Moran. "In this time of economic uncertainty and increasing lawlessness, the good people of Chicago ought not have to choose between violating Chicago's gun ban, and protecting themselves and their loved ones." The Chicago gun ban challenge will likely be among the most closely watched constitutional law cases in decades. At stake is not just the question of whether the Second Amendment secures the right to arms against state and local governments, but also the extent to which the Supreme Court preserves individual liberty against encroachment by state and local governments. Oral argument will possibly be scheduled early this coming winter, with a decision expected by June 2010. Gura will argue the case on behalf of the McDonald plaintiffs. Kim Clement Prophecy - September 2009
God - "America, I have watched over you since your 9/11. Now there will be a surrender." They will surrender arms that have been hidden." The Spirit of the Lord declares, "What they plan to use against this nation, against Israel, against Europe, and the United Kingdom will be surrendered one by one.
"And finally, the Beast that has been in hiding shall be brought out for the world to see. They shall say, 'Is this the one that terrified the whole world? Is this the one who frightened the nations of the earth? Is this it?' So shallow shall it be," says the Lord. "But I will draw the beast out from the caves and the fields and America shall once and for all shout as one nation, and in one moment I will wipe out the division that has been brought to this nation by the spirit of python," says the Lord.
"There shall be a cry. They shall say, 'This has not been right, let the courts decide.'" For God said, "What courts can decide the guilt of a man? I will show you which court shall decide. In one moment this nation shall stand again as they stood in the steps when 9/11 took place and they sang together; and now years later there is division, hatred, scorn, shame, debt."
"God said, "They look upon you not the way they shall see you. For very soon," God said, "they will look and say, 'The nation has brought themselves together, and now they are one. They are praying together.' For I have caused the beast to surrender, and the surrendering of the arms will stop a potential war in Israel and in America." And God said, "I will stop it in an instance, for My Word has been declared and so shall it be."

William Wilberforce, A Christian Hero
William Wilberforce by Kerby Anderson
Eric Metaxas is the most eclectic Christian I know. Anyone whose resume says he has written for Chuck Colson, Veggie Tales, and the New York Times is by definition a unique individual. He is perhaps best known these days as the biographer of William Wilberforce. I spent a week with him and his family this summer at a Christian camp and recently interviewed him on my radio program. We talked about some of material in his book, Amazing Grace: William Wilberforce and the Heroic Campaign to End Slavery.
Eric's biography of Wilberforce is powerful for many reasons. One of them is his ability to put you into the cultural context of the time. He reminds us how much slavery was a part of society. He says: "Slavery was as accepted as birth and marriage and death, was so woven into the tapestry of human history that you could barely see its threads, much less pull them out. Everywhere on the globe, for five thousand years, the idea of human civilization without slavery was unimaginable."
Because of this the idea of ending slavery was not even spoken by abolitionists. They focused merely on trying to abolish the slave trade (the buying and selling of human beings) but did not speak about emancipation.
In the midst of this cultural milieu, Wilberforce came to see the evil of slavery. Because of his Christian faith he was able to see what so few in his world could see. And after a long, protracted battle he changed the way the world viewed slavery.
That is the power of a Christian worldview. It enables us to see the world the way God sees it, not the way the world has been accustomed to seeing it. Wilberforce no longer saw the world divided in slave and free. He saw that all men and women are created in the image of God and thus are equal and valuable.
There are many lessons to be learned from William Wilberforce, but the moral clarity of a Christian worldview is certainly one of the most powerful lessons. Like Wilberforce, we need to apply our worldview glasses today to the many ills in society.

There are many lessons to be learned from William Wilberforce, but the moral clarity of a Christian worldview is certainly one of the most powerful lessons. Like Wilberforce, we need to apply our worldview glasses today to the many ills in society.
