The Watchman On The Wall

The Watchman On The Wall
Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Verse 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Soros' Money Is Tied To At Least 253 Media Organizations Around The World, Feb. 6, 2023

George Soros is the closest thing most conservatives have to a bogeyman. Many see him underneath every single liberal rock in the country.

As an American, he’s certainly free to spend his money to influence politics, and he does. He wields an immense amount of power by spending tens of millions of dollars pushing America toward his liberal vision. Often in the shadows, his influence has changed the country.

We know, for example, how he financed the campaigns of many ultra-liberal DAs who are changing how their cities respond to crime and lessen punishments for criminals.

Along with working to fund government officials, Soros is also “buying” the media through several channels. In fact, a recent Media Research Center study shows Soros (and his money) are tied to at least 253 media organizations around the world.

“Fact checking” as a weapon

First, he’s funding fact-checking projects and groups like PolitiFact and its parent company The Poynter Institute. The New York Post reports:

“One of the more recent studies of bias on PolitiFact found sources six times more likely to defend Biden in their “fact-checks” than check his facts.”

In fact, the web is even more intricate than that.

“One project of the Poynter Institute specifically, the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN), was launched in 2015 with its initial funding coming from the National Endowment for Democracy (backed by the US State Department), the Omidyar Network, Google, Facebook, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and George Soros’ Open Society Foundations.”

The IFCN oversees dozens of fact-checking organizations, who are united under a mission “to bring together the growing community of fact-checkers around the world … in the global fight against misinformation.” Organizations affiliated with the IFCN include the AP fact checker, FactCheck.org, the Washington Post fact checker, and of course, PolitiFact.

“Fact checking” is less about checking facts, and more about silencing dissent. Labeling your opponents as peddling “misinformation” has been one of the more effective liberal weapons over the past few years, and no one has pushed that more effectively than George Soros.
