The Watchman On The Wall

The Watchman On The Wall
Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Verse 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Watchman Report Dec. 3, 2021 "FRC Action"

Dear Alan,

Today, you and I stand on the brink of what could be a watershed moment for the pro-life cause.

Nearly 50 years after the disastrous Roe v. Wade decision, just yesterday, the U.S. Supreme Court heard a case that directly challenges the constitutional "right" to abortion established by Roe. It could even overturn it!

I thank God for your faithful prayers and support, which have brought us closer than ever to victory in the long, hard battle to save millions of innocent lives!

The case, Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health, concerns Mississippi's Gestational Age Act, which prohibits elective abortions after 15 weeks gestation. The law was passed in 2018 and was immediately (and predictably) challenged by the state's only abortion clinic. It was later ruled unconstitutional by an Obama-appointed judge.

Mississippi fought on, losing again in a U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Now the U.S. Supreme Court has just heard the case...giving us the best chance we have EVER had to overturn Roe v. Wade and see years of labor rewarded and prayers answered!

Mississippi's law is a challenge to Roe, and the state's brief in the case calls upon the Court to overturn Roe -- as does the amicus brief Family Research Council (FRC) submitted in July.

If the Supreme Court overturns Roe, the question of abortion would return to the states. This would open the floodgates for a tidal wave of pro-life legislation that will protect unborn life and hopefully put an end to the tragedy of abortion in this country.

If and when that opportunity comes, we must be ready to make the most of it, which is why we must raise $300,000 by December 31st.

We must act quickly. You see, the Supreme Court will likely announce its ruling on the Dobbs case sometime in the first half of 2022. But before then, we must be preparing to advance even more pro-life legislation.

And when the court rules in this case, if Roe is overturned, next November's state legislative elections will immediately be catapulted into the national spotlight as the most important front in the battle to end abortion.

Once the federal government loses its power to compel our nation to uphold a "right" to abortion, the fight for life will open up in all 50 states.

Any state with a pro-life legislative majority will have the "green light" to pass the most pro-life laws we have seen in half a century -- and many of them will act quickly.

States like Mississippi and Missouri (which only have one abortion center each) could soon become abortion-free states. Other states will pass laws that will greatly diminish the availability of abortion, saving countless innocent lives.

But the fight for life won't be over. Far from it.

We must be prepared to work with our allies and lay the groundwork for a culture of life -- preparing churches and pro-lifers around the country to help women facing a crisis pregnancy. If we truly want to be pro-life, we must not only stop abortion legally but assist women who are facing its pressures culturally.

That's why we must raise $300,000 by December 31st. Please give as Lord leads you toward this critical effort.

Together, we will save countless lives and help bring an end to abortion in America.

Standing (Eph. 6:13),

Tony Perkins
