Watchman,
Thanks for the link on
Nitro Zeus. I found it to be a great summary. I
learned a few things and
was glad to see something so
comprehensive in the
public domain. I am
very familiar
with the Siemens PLC Profibus equipment's vulnerable
nature.
A similar exploit was used (not any indication
that it was a
government) in the Target hack a couple of
years ago. The bad
actors got in through the building
automation system.
Take care & keep up
the great work,

Watchman: Is profibus used in power
plants?
Yes, some. It is
one of several networks/system architectures that are all vulnerable. It
is used in about every type of production facility there is - oil & gas,
food and beverage, paper & pulp, chemical refining, water & waste water
treatment, power, and on..........It is more popular in Europe than the United
States. Those most popular here are just as vulnerable.

Most of you will not discover the answer to the question in my title until you get to the end of the video "Zero Days" below. This is an extremely long video but it is one of the most important videos you will have watched.
I urge my readers to peruse the information in this article and videos carefully. We have crossed the Rubicon into uncharted water. Machines (computers) can now start a huge disaster or world war without human agreement and knowledge. Even worse, computers can do even worse things with evil humans unleashing infective, uncontrollable worms.
The first link is the best version of the video in English except for Farsi Iranian speakers but for Turkish readers I have included the second link with Turkish language subtitles.
Friends, we have entered a new age of warfare, much like we did with the atom bomb in July and August 1945. I recommend watching the video in 30 minute segments if you are pressed for time but please watch it all. The first link is the best link to watch the video.

After watching "Zero Days" I could see why Obama intensely dislikes Netanyahu and the Israelis. The U.S. and the Israelis worked on the Stuxnet worm together to stop Iran's centrifuges and then without telling the U.S. officials the Israelis upgraded Stuxnet making it uncontrollable. Obama, in my opinion, got very angry with Netanyahu because the Israelis almost got the U.S. in a ground war with the Iranians which may have been the ultimate Israeli goal. "Zero Days" also recounts the Iranian response when they found out about stuxnet:
1. They formed one of the largest cyber warfare forces in the world, that is now a formidable foe.
2. They successfully attacked with computers and shut down Saudi Arabia's largest oil firm.
3. The Iranian attacked some of the largest banks in the U.S. These were very costly retaliatory attacks.
But now the larger question for the U.S. government is we can trust the Israelis, since they have proven that they will attempt to plunge us into a disastrous war. This is particularly disconcerting for Christians like myself because we believe God calls upon us to support Israel. For myself, I will continue to chart that difficult path and just trust God while not supporting Godless, unsaved Jews. I think we need to keep in mind Israel is not a saved nation and they discriminate against and do not treat Messianic Christians very well.
Kubrick warned us about computers HAL (advance one letter and you have IBM) taking over in his classical film "2001, A Space Odyssey" See the 3 links below. HAL's purpose was to control the human crew.
Now here is our current danger, the upgraded Stuxnet worm cannot be stopped like HAL, it has no human controller (programmer) like HAL. I would speculate that Kubrick knew computers ultimately would have no controller but he couldn't go there because it would ruin his move or more likely since Kubrick was a member of the Illuminati (the enlightened ones) he could not broach that subject and be allowed to remain alive!
By the way, HAL's instructor was Mr. Langley! Langley = CIA.
