Ninevah (Mosul) is the ancient capitol of Assyria. You will recall that Jonah brought the heathen people of Ninevah to the Lord. Jonah did not want to go there because of the heathens there and fled from the Lord and ended up in the whale's belly for 3 days and nights, a foreshadowing of Yeshua's burial and time in the tomb.

Now, Mosul and Iraq are part of God's plan to eventually bring all the Gentile nations together to fight Israel. God is putting the puzzle pieces together in the Middle East. For example, look at the Ezekiel 38 alliance in Syria of Russia, Turkey and Iran.

A trusted source told me approximately 5,000 U.S. troops are being deployed to Iraq to wipe out ISIS. I am personally aware of military reservists who have been called up for active duty. 

Troops will be near the ancient city of Ninevah (Mosul) and this could have prophetic significance.
