infected with the coronavirus, but they may not be completely protected against
new variants
A trial of an
experimental coronavirus vaccine
detected the most sobering signal yet that people who have recovered from
infections are not completely protected against a variant that originated in
South Africa and is spreading rapidly, preliminary data presented this week
suggests.
The finding,
though far from conclusive, has potential implications for how the pandemic
will be brought under control, underscoring the critical role of vaccination,
including for people who have already recovered from infections. Reaching herd
immunity — the threshold when enough people achieve protection and the virus
can’t seed new outbreaks — will depend on a mass vaccination campaign that has
been constrained by limited supply.
Fauci, director of
the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, noted that it
appears a vaccine is better than natural infection in protecting people,
calling it “a big, strong plug to get vaccinated” and a reality check for
people who may have assumed that because they have already been infected, they

Gold And Silver Coin Sales Surge In January, U.S. Mint Limits Sales

A total of 220,500 ounces of the Gold
American Eagle coins were sold in January 2021. This is 267% higher than
the amount sold in January 2020, which equated to just 60,000 ounces.
January’s sales also marked the strongest month since April 2013.
In silver, there was a total of 4,775,000 ounces of silver American Eagle
coins sold in January of this year compared to 3,846,000 ounces sold in
January 2020. This is an increase of 24.15%, which marked the best January
silver coins since 2017.
The U.S. Mint has been rationing the sales of its silver coins due to
“continued exceptional market demand” and limited supply, Bloomberg quoted
the U.S. Mint as saying on Tuesday.
January’s jump in sales coincided with an overwhelming demand coming from
retail investors, who were looking to invest in the physical metal. Many
precious metals dealers were reporting delays in ordering silver products
over the past weekend amid record demand.
The U.S. Mint said on Tuesday that it had trouble meeting demand due to
plant capacity issues and rising interest in precious metals in 2020 and
through to January 2021.
Total sales of U.S. gold bullion coins were up 258% last year, while the
sales of silver coins were up 28%, the U.S. Mint said in a statement. The
surging demand is also spilling over into 2021 as well, the Mint added.
For 2021, the U.S. Mint said it has a limited window to produce gold and
silver coins because redesigned coins are scheduled to be released in the
summer. The Mint also said that it would be limiting the distribution of
its gold, silver, and platinum coins to specific dealers because of higher
demand and coronavirus-related logistical issues, Reuters reported citing
the Mint’s statement.
“Retail demand has had a staggering start to the year,” said Standard
Chartered precious metals analyst Suki Cooper. “Gold coin sales tend to be
stronger during Democratic administrations rather than Republican.”

Silver To Steal The Show – LBMA Price Forecast

The bull run in precious metals is
expected to continue through 2021 with double-digit gains across the board,
according to analysts participating in the London Bull Market Association's
(LBMA) annual price forecast report.
"Silver is undoubtedly the star of the show," the LBMA said.
"Silver is forecast to be the best-performing metal in 2021, but with
a trading range of $38.5, nearly five times its range forecast last year,
it looks as if it's in for a real rollercoaster ride in 2021."
As to the important factors driving precious metals prices in 2021, the
report noted that 25% of analysts said that low to negative interest rates
would be positive tailwinds for gold, silver, and PGMs.
At the same time, 21% of analysts said that a weaker U.S. dollar would
support higher precious metals prices, and 16% are watching the Federal
Reserve's extremely accommodative monetary policies.
Thorsten Polleit, chief economist at Degussa, is the most bullish on gold
as he expects prices to push to $2,300 an ounce.
"The gold bull market can be expected to continue not only in 2021 but
well beyond. A great number of factors are at work for pushing the price of
gold further up. To fend off the consequences of the politically dictated
lockdown crisis, central banks around the world will keep interest rates
artificially low and expand the money supply at unprecedented growth
rates," he said to support his bullish outlook.
Polleit is also the most bullish analyst for silver prices. He said that he
sees silver rising to $55 an ounce this year. | |

Public Health Orders

The issue of determining who has the
authority for public health decisions continues in
Ohio. Is it the Governor or the
Legislature who has the controlling authority? Who
has the right to close businesses, schools, and set
regulations on group sizes for churches, weddings,
funerals, etc.? This is an important issue to
resolve.
The newly introduced bill by State
Senator Terry Johnson sets up a bi-partisan, joint
legislative committee to
advise the Governor and the Ohio Department of
Health and oversee their actions during a statewide
health emergency.
The following description of the new
bill is from the Ohio
Senate website:

“The Committee would also have the
authority to rescind an executive order issued by
the Governor, or a special or standing order or
rule issued by the Department of Health for
preventing the spread of a contagious disease.
·
The bill further prohibits the
Governor or the Department of Health from reissuing
any rescinded executive order, special or standing
order, or rule for 90 days. Public health state of
emergencies issued by the Governor would also only
remain in effect for 30 days unless the General
Assembly adopted an extension through concurrent
resolution.
·
‘The goal of this legislation is to
give the citizens of the state of Ohio, through
their elected officials, a voice in matters related
to public health,’ Johnson said. ‘This bill
restores reasonable checks and balances that are
crucial to the functioning of our government.’ “

year, DeWine vetoed three other bills seeking,
respectively, to decriminalize his administration’s
health orders, strip away his power to issue
statewide health orders at all, and override a
health order banning most county fair activities.”

This morning, OCA President Chris Long was joined
by Attorney General Dave Yost and his wife Darlene for services
at St. Joseph Cathedral in downtown Columbus. The church was
recently attacked when services were disrupted by radical protestors,
violating the First Amendment rights of the congregants. Today we
attended to express our support for the church and the

- St. Joseph's Catholic Church was the scene of an attack by
radical abortion activists on Friday, January 22. The church was
holding its annual memorial service for the unborn on the 48th
Anniversary of Roe v. Wade when the nearly one dozen riotous
protestors burst into the service with signs, bullhorns, shouting
profanities at the attendees and the attending priests. The
congregants were disturbed and frightened by the sudden attack.
Columbus Police were called, but no citations were given and
there were no arrests. The group has stated on their Facebook
page that they plan on returning to the church. Attorney General

SOLDIER'-PRAY FOR OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS PROTECTION IN OUR ARMED SERVICES So what I've been told is that by summer
the covid vaccine will be mandatory for service members I don't know if this is
a DOD directive or a big Army directive. So I can't speak for the other
branches.
The word that sticks out to me is DECIMATION. I don't know if that's the Holy
spirit or not. Just as the Roman's decimated their own legions to test loyalty,
this vaccine will cause death in the ranks, and be a sign of fealty to
regime.Most of the Army leadership I know have already gotten the vaccine. Much
of the middle level leadership has mixed reactions, there are those who will
tow the party line, and there are those who will refuse and are willing to be
dismissed. These mid level NCO's make up a large portion of boots on the ground
leadership. It seems like most of the lower level enlisted don't know any
better and will do what they're instructed to do. With the decimation of our
forces will make us very vulnerable strategically. I'm not privy to the war
planning, but If I was the Chinese I would hit us sometime after that!Also on a
related topic. I know a soldier who had cosmic clearance. Well he's told me
that they are purging the military right now. It started a few days after the
election. He's not a Christian, but he does support the constitution. They hit
him with trumped up bogus charges. That he had said things that he didn't say.
He has been relieved of duty and all his clearances have been revoked. It's his
contention that they are working their way down the clearance levels, starting
at the higher levels. He also said that it is happening to others he knows.Also
for those who aren't in the service, it's dependent on individual commands, but
for the last few months there's been mask mandates, any soldier caught without
a mask in or out of uniform is subject to immediate UCMJ action with the
reduction of rank, a forfeiture of pay and extra punitive duty for a period of
45 days. Repeat offenses may be subject to possible dismissal from service.So
please pray for us, the believers in uniform, we are under a lot of pressure
right now. I know everyone is, so I'm not dismissing anyone else's hardship,
just asking for prayer for us. For protection, and for direction. Some of us
such as myself are stationed in first strike zones can't relocate because of our
jobs.
Thanks for everything that you do. You prayed for me a few months ago and it
has made such a difference I'm not struggling with the weight of depression
