ALERT: Russian Army (RA) Preparing A Huge Encirclement of the Ukrainian Army (UA), Aug. 18, 2023

 

 

“Operation Trident” will encircle most of the UA in eastern Ukraine and it’s thrust will be centered on the city of Poltova.The trident is the symbol of Ukraine.  

 

Watchman comment: Wagner will push south out of Belarus to the east of Kiev and lure and decoy the UA out Kiev.

 

The UA of 400,000 men would face a combined force of 800,000 Russian and  100,000 Wagner troops. Keep in mind the UA is almost out of ammunition and military equipment has already had approximately 400,000 troops killed and over a million men wounded or disabled. 

 

“Operation Trident” reminds me of “Operation Uranus” that the Soviet Army

used against the Germans to trap Paulus’s 6^th Army in Stalingrad in WW2.   So “Operation Trident” has historical precedent.

 

Interestingly, if I am correct, the number of forces involved approximately equal "Operation Uranus"forces for the Germans and Soviets.

I think the plan is brilliant militarily and could end the war in Ukraine.
