Dear Friends,

I've been waiting all week to send this because I wanted to know the Rittenhouse results first.

Before getting to that, please look below (or besides, if you're on desktop). I have a special gift for you all. Remember that Booklist I promised you? Well, I finally finished it and with the holidays coming up, I thought you might want to buy your kids and grandkids books, good books. So after reading this, take a look, at the next column.

Kyle Rittenhouse received a Not Guilty verdict on all four counts today. He acted in self defense, the jury saw the obvious truth, and he is a free man.

The usual suspects are infuriated, of course. They are filled with bloodlust and are indistinguishable from any sort of pitchfork wielding mob. They are why we have jury trials in America.

But this trial should never have happened. A corrupt D.A. [Democrat] brought charges, knowing full well that Kyle did nothing wrong. This process, though, punished him enough and that was the point.

Kyle suffered for months wondering if he'd spend his life behind bars simply for defending himself from people trying to kill him – and they were trying to kill him. His mother and sisters broke down sobbing at the verdict. They had to live in anguish, too.

I have some more thoughts about this that I'll share below.

Just know this, like after the Afghanistan debacle, the media and the Left and the President are humiliated once again. Their response will be fierce and punitive.

Strap on your boots and be prepared to see more tyrannical actions by the Feds. I'll explain why more below.

In the meantime, pray for the jurors' safety and for Kyle and his family and lawyers. They're in peril.
Children's Booklist

Want to change the world? Educate a child – really educate a child. Read to him. Teach him history and geography. Teach him the Bible. Stay in constant contact. Know his friends. Discuss his life. Ask questions. Relationship build. Be more important to that child than any teacher, coach, friend, tutor, anyone.

Relationship building starts young and reading is a good way to do it. It's direct one-on-one time and it's fun and happy. Even before a child can read, he'll love the attention, snuggles, tones of voice, pictures, and joy you have for the story and for him.

You want your kid to listen to you later? Get them to listen to you now and make it fun.

Children today have so many things but too often, not the things that matter. With two parents working (likely because they have to to survive) children hunger for attention. They need it to feel safe and take chances. There's all sorts of research on child development that children with moms around take more chances because they feel safer and encouraged. Children alone tend to steer clear of the edges and boundaries. They're afraid.

We want courageous, confident, educated children who love God, family, and country. These children will take time and devotion.

We created a Children's Booklist to help harried parents and grandparents. There's a list, with the books linked on Amazon. All you have to do is click and there you go.

***
Tangential, but related. The book list is a gift for those who subscribe. Some of y'all may be upset at that. Why even have a subscription? Well, your subscription is more than access to great, true reporting and commentary. It's more than a gorgeous print magazine. It's supporting free speech and civil rights, etc.

When you look at the Rittenhouse trial, for example, if you only watched CNN or MSNBC, you would have believed a vigilante, racist teen crossed state lines with a gun seeking black people to kill. If you knew the truth: that Kyle lived and worked in Kenosha, too, that his gun was legal and that he was defending himself, you knew that because places like The American Spectator told you.

We ask for your support. TAS, like many paces, is being attacked for reporting the truth. We have been sued multiple times this year alone, and the purpose is to put us out of business – one fewer voice to fight the leftist narrative.

You may visit our website twice a week or less, even. But we're there when you need us and we ask for your support to continue. The Booklist is created to help you raise patriots and we can do something like this because you help us with your financial support. Thank you so much.

The Biden Vortex Deepens. [My aside: When Democrats are in pain they start wars and persecute their perceived enemies domestically. Expect more pain.]

From Obama to Rittenhouse

Barak Obama won two elections in America. Triumphant. He was a symbol – not of racism ending, because he stoked racial tensions – no, he was a symbol that America had finally and fully moved left and would now be a Woke utopian place where every Leftist ideology would, at long last, be the defining religion in America. Good-bye, God, hello Gaia, CRT, and every weird thing. The theater kids were finally in charge and it would be glorious!

That delusion, that America was somehow on-board with the ignorant and idealistic worldview of college sophomores, was trumped by two things: real life and the real life embodiment of Donald Trump.

Donald Trump hated political correctness and lived (lives) boldly, brashly, and unapologetically. A businessman and doer, he found the feckless, empty, starry-eyed nonsense of most politicians and bureaucrats laughably naive and useless. Voters responded to his rhetoric. He gave voice to people having to deal with these inane leaders imposing their rules, regulations, taxes, and ideology on people in a position to not fight back.

The Woke weren't just appalled that someone so crass and extra could be elected, they were appalled that a man like this could have such broad-based and enthusiastic support. These folks were offended to their very core. The Woke hated these people and the Never Trump folks road the same bus with the Woke, their friendship forged in a common enemy: the people who would defy them, their ideology, and their haughty elite leadership. HOW DARE THEY?!

We can see this in the smirking reaction by the Never Trump crowd to the January 6th protestors who've been persecuted for, in most cases, being escorted into the Capitol by police. Sure some few deserve the book thrown at them, but most were hapless and bumbled into a situation they thought was okay. Punish these people for daring question them.

But the Woke mob is something else entirely. They're convulsing because the average American refuses to submit to their politically correct, CRT, child-sexualizing, brazen attempt to indoctrinate everyone into the Woke religion.

Biden's government is using everything in his arsenal: the FBI surveillance and raids, IRS audits, dragged out DOJ prosecutions, OSHA regulations, CDC diktats, media propaganda, executive orders, to coerce and force Americans into their way or else. It's fear-based Bolshevik bullying and it is terrifying.

Americans have been slow on the uptake. The majority of Americans still really believe that the COVID regulations were about an exotic new virus rather than a mechanism to wrest control out of American citizens hands and for the Biden government to take it for themselves. Trust the experts, they say, even as America is succumbing to the woes of inflation, crime, and racial animus that the experts, themselves, CREATED.

The Democrats and their Woke minions in the media got an unpleasant surprise in the elections this year. They mistook a rejection of Trump to be an endorsement of their Obamaian worldview. Their response so far has been to be to double-down.

When Republicans sold out and helped Pelosi pass the Infrastructure bill, House leader McCarthy seemed flummoxed by the response of some Republicans. The GOP saved the Democrats, again. Screwed America, again.

The American people want this to STOP. Who will stop Democrats and the Woke mob if elected Republicans sit flaccid in the face of this tyranny?

Now enter Rittenhouse. Why is this trial so meaningful? There are multiple reasons. Stay with me, here, this is important.

People respond to archetypes and icons in visceral, instinctive ways. We're seeing this writ large with the Rittenhouse trial.

The Kenosha Burning started because of a lie. A black man in Kenosha was shot (not killed) by police. He was armed with a knife. He'd just interacted with someone with whom he was not to contact because he was indicted for sexual assault against this woman. She called 911 and the police came in ready to defend a black woman (by the way) from her predator.

The lie the media told: police in Kenosha shot another unarmed innocent black man. This was on the heels of George Floyd in Minnesota.

The Woke Mob, thus incited, traveled to Kenosha with revenge and mayhem on their minds. And revenge they took. They overran the police and started looting and burning.

Great! The media, believing that racism (even when there was no racism) justifies all manner of violence, reported misinformation, and painted the rioting in pastels. The rioters were heroes. They were anti-racist and wanted justice and equity (terms that have lost their meaning and been redefined by the Woke mob to mean violence and theft.)

The locals in Kenosha did not see it that way. By day two, they knew the government's police or national guard wouldn't help them. They'd have protect themselves.

How does a business protect itself? Good guys with guns.

How does the media portray anyone who would fight against rioters and looters and arsonists (and as it turns out, pedophiles and thieves and wife batterers?) as anti-racist heroes. These are just criminal opportunists and the enforcement arm of the the Democrats, but to the Woke, they are soldiers in the fight for equity. Who would dare stand against them?

Further, no good person would stand against them. Only racist evil people would stand against these heroic destructors.

The Kenosha people deserve to have their businesses burn. After all, lives are more important than furniture, cars, businesses (never mind that these businesses are the life-work of the Kenosha residents.)

Kyle Rittenhouse was the reduction of all these assumptions. How dare he, a white guy, stand against these righteous warriors? A good person would allow their businesses to be burned and wouldn't fight the mob.

When Kyle defended himself, he represented everyone who would stand in the way of what the leftist Woke fascist mob wants.

What the Woke fascist mob wants is everything.

They want to control every inch of every person's life with their worldview. They have entertainment, media, Congress, the Executive branch, education, big business, sports. They have it all but they're voracious, as totalitarians are, and they want to control every legal outcome. They want to control what you eat, the kind of car you drive, house you live in, your bank account, your health. Nothing is off limits.

Even more, they want you to submit to them and do what's good for you. The fact that people, symbolized by Rittenhouse (who was not even on offense and just defended himself from their wrath) would even deign to stand up and not take the beating, as the Prosecutor counseled Rittenhouse to do, enrages them.

This is why I say that you should expect more pain. You might think that going into the midterms that Democrats might want to moderate, that they'd care about keeping control.

But this is what you need to understand, that the GOP doesn't get (or does and goes along because they prefer Democrats to Americans), the Woke are about right now, this moment and extracting whatever win they can out of the immediate.

This is why I think the abomination of Biden's bill will get passed. The GOP has already shown themselves to be gutless rollover artists. McCarthy was stunned to be confronted by his own members who were furious about the 12 turncoats who voted with Nancy Pelosi. He couldn't fathom why it was a big deal.

This same slack-jawed stupidity will get the Democrats their fascist spending bill. This bill will let them use the IRS to track your $400 transactions – each one of them. They're not doing this for tax purposes (although, raping the middle class is the only way to truly fund communists). They are doing it to track your political donations. With this one action they'll know every church, every special interest, every politician you support. They'll know where your heart is, because your money will be there.

The bill will spur inflation. That's the point, you see. It's to absolutely decimate the middle class. CONTROL THEM. It will give tax cuts to the wealthy with the SALT deduction repeal. It will enrich the rich.

And anyone trying to defend themselves against this leviathan is a racist, white, MAGA fool and deserves to be hit with a skateboard and beaten to death. Don't you dare defend yourself.

“The way to crush the bourgeoisie is to grind them
between the millstones of taxation and inflation.” - Lenin

Don't worry. With Republicans in D.C. there's little fear of any fighting back. They, like so many commentators on the Right, are for destruction. It just needs to slow down a bit.

When Trump got in office, Hillary Clinton made up a lie and then got the Russians to help her make up a story and then the media reported it as truth and the FBI lied to and used the FISA court and destroyed Trump's presidency in a haze of malevolent innuendo and fabrications.

And they did it with the Republican's help. John McCain delivered the dossier to the FBI. Mitch McConnell and the Congressional leadership threw sand in the gears to stop any legislation from passing. The GOP didn't even have plans for governance so they just tried to interfere with the political novice. And they succeeded! Supposedly conservative media were credulous enablers of the Steele Dossier. They left the fighters like Devin Nunes high and dry and even recommended sanctioning HIM.

So don't expect the Republicans to have the courage of a teenager from Kenosha. They're too busy worried about what the Marxists in the media think about them.

The fight, as usual, will come down to the individuals going to School Board meetings despite being surveilled by the FBI, running for office – especially roles like Attorney General and District Attorneys and kicking out the Soros-financed communist psychopaths running things.

And everyone still reading this (and thank you, if you are) needs to think long and hard about 2024. Too much was left undone not just because Trump was stymied every step of the way but because Republicans were so weak and stupid (and probably compromised by the FBI dirt on them) that they fought against a president instead of working to right some of these wrongs structurally.

Trump had the right idea about nixing regulations and trimming the bureaucracy. They hated him for it. But he left so many cards on the table that he could have played. He should have pardoned every January 6 protestor (save the couple violent nutjobs). He should have got the Southern wall done. He shouldn't have passed the GOP spending bills. He should have handled the COVID pandemic in a more steady, leadership way.

The GOP is even more responsible for failures. If they win Congress back next year, they better not repeat the same mistakes. They should have a legislative plan ready to go. And for those still reading, I do not want to hear one damn word about Biden being president. But, but Veto! Come up with legislation and make Biden veto it. Send legislation every week, over and over and over. Do what Americans want for once.

The Left is furious at Kyle Rittenhouse because he symbolizes what they hate: people standing up for a civilization they believe is inherently evil.

Well, I love this civilization, flaws and all. I love America. I love the family businesses and traditions like Thanksgiving. I love the idea of a jury of our peers and true justice being done. I love law and order. I love childhood innocence and protecting it. I love innovation and opportunity and The American Dream. I love the ideal of a melting pot and e pluribus unum. I love religious freedom and the freedom to speak.

There is, as Tolkien says, still good worth fighting for. Kyle Rittenhouse fought for it in the way only a naive, optimistic teenager can. America was built by optimistic, naive teenagers. America has been saved, repeatedly by naive, optimistic teenagers.

Our indolent, indulged gentry Republican class could learn a thing or two. We have many ideals worth fighting for, if only we would fight for them.

So that's why the Left is reeling and seething over Kyle Rittenhouse. Guys like Kyle Rittenhouse, "I just wanted to help", made America great. Time to stand up to the communist thugs burning American civilization and say no.

Fight! Freedom is worth defending. Fight!

Afghanistan – Three Months Later

Americans are still left behind in Afghanistan.

Final Thoughts - Gratitude

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. It's filled with all the best things: family, food, football, and fun. The premise of the holiday: being Thankful to God for our blessings imbues the day with a pure spirit, if done right. [Not like this, which is a family joking, by the way.]

Gratitude needs peace and quiet and space. I hope you get some time over the next week to slow down and consider all the ways good fortune has shined on you. Wishing you blessings and love during this Thanksgiving!

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good. His love endures forever.
Psalm 136: 1

I will praise God’s name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving.
