When I interviewed Neil Armstrong for his top secret security clearance he told me he said the words below incorrectly, it should have been "one small step for a man". Personally, I think Neil's mistaken words sounds better. He also told me NASA did not write the words or tell him what to say. Armstrong's interview was one of the most interesting I ever conducted and I found Neil to be a very interesting but extremely nervous man.
