And the changes in the auto industry illustrate this perhaps better than any other segment of the economy. Ford signaled on Monday that their business model is changing from SELLING cars, to RENTING rides. They will focus on developing autonomous taxis and Uber’s CEO admits that the company’s survival depends on eliminating human drivers.
