Team Rubicon Update

Friends and Patriots,
I had the honor and privilege of serving with Bill McNulty on the Matt Maupin Task Force in Abu Ghraib Iraq. It is good to see that the Lord has blessed Team Rubicon. Below is Bill's most recent update. Semper Fi Bill!

Team-
In early May, wildfires engulfed the city of Fort McMurray in Alberta, Canada. The fires destroyed 2,400 homes and caused the largest evacuation in Albertan history. Within days of Team Rubicon Global (TRG) securing an invitation through the Canadian government, a nascent Team Rubicon Canada, along with Team Rubicon USA, were on the ground in Alberta, with TR members from Australia and the UK not far behind. Operation Pay Dirt, led by a Canadian veteran serving as Incident Commander, was the largest multinational response in our history, demonstrating no matter the country they served for, veterans share valuable common skills suited for disaster response. Our global model for disaster response is gaining traction, and we have big news to share with our supporters.
We’re proud to announce American Express and the Bob Woodruff Foundation have joined the Starr Foundation as Founding Sponsors of Team Rubicon Global. Bob Woodruff Foundation is helping expand the transnational partnership between TR UK and TR USA, as well as building new partnerships with Team Rubicons in Australia and Canada. American Express is building on their already significant commitment to TR USA by funding TRG’s Disaster Operations Fund, enabling Team Rubicons to deploy on time-sensitive operations anywhere in the world.

Back in the United Kingdom, TR UK opened its first headquarters in the old Royal Air Force barracks outside of Wiltshire. It’s a wonderful location that has already served as the launching point for TR UK operations in Canada and Nepal. By this time next week, we'll be posting the launch progress of each new TR on the TRG website.

This year, we’re investing heavily into launching two new Team Rubicons: TR Canada and TR Australia. For TR Canada, we’ve added new Board members including General Rick Hillier, the former Chief of the Defence Staff for the Canadian Forces, and Shaun Francis, the Founder of True Patriot Love. For the Board of TR Australia, we’ve added Major General Mick Slater, the former Commander of Australia's Forces Command, and Commodore Elizabeth Rushbrook, the Director of Medical Administration of Prince Charles Hospital. In addition, our global partnership with McKinsey continues. The McKinsey business
plan process kicked off in Sydney two weeks ago, and TR Australia’s first operation, a medical training exercise, kicks off in August.
Finally, take a look at our 2015 annual report. We launched TRG in April of last year as the global organization that incubates, launches, and enables Team Rubicon organizations in countries around the world. TRG coordinates international operations, maintains brand control, sets operating standards, and establishes strategic relationships with foreign governments, multinational institutions, and other NGOs. TRG’s first supporting operation was the Nepal earthquake in late April 2015, where we deployed a nascent TR UK - including Nepalese Gurkhas and British veterans - alongside members of TR USA. That ‘network effect’, building on venerable relationships of Gurkhas serving in the British military for the past 200 years, demonstrated the true power of Team Rubicon Global.

Yours in Service,
