John McAfee, the wealthy software entrepreneur
who made a dramatic escape from Belize after he was linked to the murder of a
neighbor, now says he is willing to tell his version of the story but won’t
return to the Central American country. Mr. McAfee’s bizarre tale took
another strange turn this week when he warned of apocalyptic cyber threats to
the United States in a radio interview with TruNews. McAfee warned that American
citizens face grave threats from electronic surveillance from their own
government and the country is at risk of being attacked by cyber warriors
capable of turning America’s own weapons against it. “Call me crazy,
everybody does anyway, said Mr. McAfee, who made a fortune with the anti-virus
software that bears his name. “But this is how it’s going to happen.” In
the “next world war the aggressors will be people sitting at home in armchairs
while their software turns all of our guns, our bombsa against us.” McAfee
claimed last month he had been asked by congressional staff to help fix the
faulty Obamacare website.
Mr. McAfee now lives in Portland,
Ore., where he says he is working on his latest computer project – a “black
box” that can be hooked up to a smartphone to create a totally private network
powerful enough to defeat even the efforts of American spy agencies to pry. “I
will probably end up in federal prison or have to leave the country,” he told
TruNews, because his “black box” will be seen as a threat to government
surveillance.

Friends, take heed and prayfully prepare because the next series of four blood moons occurs at Passover and Sukkot in 2014 and 2015.

In 2014 two eclipses occur one on Passover and the high holy day of Rosh Hashanah, the first day of the seventh Hebrew month. Two more take place in 2015, also on Jewish feast days. Friends, this is not hocus pocus, these blood moons and solar eclipse are based on NASA projections and recorded celestial history.
We, the American people have begun the countdown to our next Shmittah! We have 663 days, let me repeat 663 days to our next Shmittah on 9-13-15, the 29th of Elul 5775 on the Hebrew calendar. Friends prepare yourself. Time is running short. Let me remind you, America faced its first harbinger on 9-11-01 with the attacks on the WTC and the Pentagon. Our second harbinger occurred on 2008 with the financial meltdown. Harbingers occur every 7 years if a people or nation refuses to repent. To date we have refused to repent before our God. In fact, Tom Daschle and John Edwards and Obama all defied God and said the people of the U.S. would build bigger, better and stronger. This caused Daschle’s and Edwards downfall. Obama awaits his Shmittah. Look carefully at the date September 13, thirteen, of course, is Satan's number. Let me say it again, we a little less than 2 years to repent.
Rabbi Cahn says our next Shmittah will be financial in nature. Obama is facing his personal shmittah, if he does not repent God will cause his downfall. I do not know how or when that downfall will take place but it will happen. There is a prophetic verse of
Scripture that records the conquering Messiah as being asked about the wounds
that are in his hands. He responds, “Those with which I was wounded in the
house of my friends.” (Zechariah 13:6 KJV) Indeed. It wasn’t the Romans that
were fixated with killing Christ; it was the Lord’s own brethren. “He came unto
his own, and his own received him not.” (John 1:11 KJV) In like manner, our
nation is quickly losing its liberties and Natural rights, not because of our
enemies, but because of our so-called friends and brothers.
Edmund Burke summarized it
beautifully: “All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do
nothing.” And, for the most part, that is what good men are doing today:
nothing!
As regular readers of this column
know, I am passionate in my defense of the Natural right of self-defense. I
firmly believe that the only thing standing between us and tyranny is the right
of the people to keep and bear arms. The freedom of speech, the right to
assemble and redress government, the right to be secure in our own homes, the
right to a trial by jury, the freedom of worship, etc., all depend on the right
of the people to keep and bear arms. When the people of America surrender this
right, all of the other rights will quickly disappear.
Furthermore, Daniel Webster was absolutely right when he said,
"Hold on, my friends, to the Constitution and to the Republic for which it
stands. Miracles do not cluster, and what has happened once in 6,000 years, may
not happen again. Hold on to the Constitution, for if the American Constitution
should fail, there will be anarchy throughout the world." Amen!
Not only does the Second Amendment
protect the liberties of the people of the United States, the Second Amendment
protects the free peoples of the world. Without the armed citizenry of the
people of America, Great Britain, Canada, Australia, France, and the rest of
the free world would plummet into abject tyranny and oppression. Look at how
socialistic and enslaved people in these countries already are. Can one imagine
how quickly they would plunge into the Dark Ages without the power and
influence of the last bulwark of liberty: a free and armed United States of
America?
Daniel Webster uttered another profound truth: "There is no nation
on earth powerful enough to accomplish our overthrow. Our destruction, should
it come at all, will be from another quarter: from the inattention of the
people to the concerns of their government, from their carelessness and
negligence. I must confess that I do apprehend
some danger. I fear that they may place too implicit a confidence in their
public servants and fail properly to scrutinize their conduct; that in this way
they may be made the dupes of designing men and become the instruments of their
own undoing."
Ladies and gentlemen, that is
exactly what many of our so-called friends and brothers have become:
“instruments of their own undoing.” It is not the liberals, socialists,
amoralists, elitists, globalists, etc., who are killing us; it is the pastors,
Christians, conservatives, Republicans, etc., who sit back and do nothing that
are killing us.
Let me say it plainly: neocon Republicans
do far more damage to the cause of liberty than do liberal Democrats.
Do-nothing pastors and Christians do far more damage to the cause of liberty
than do atheists and agnostics. Compromising conservatives do far more damage
to the cause of liberty than do liberals.
Come on, folks! Think about it: who
endangered the cause of independence more: King George III or Benedict Arnold?
A known enemy is far less dangerous than an enemy who pretends to be your
friend.
All over America, our “friends” are
selling out the cause of liberty. Every pastor who refuses to publicly
repudiate the forces that are attacking our freedom is selling out the cause of
liberty. Every Republican who refuses to stand firm against the forces that are
attacking our freedom is selling out the cause of liberty. Every conservative
who refuses to resist the forces that are attacking our freedom is selling out
the cause of liberty.
There is nothing new about big-government zealots. They have been with
us ever since the Tower of Babel. They were with us in 1775 and 1776. Freedom
does not depend upon the absence of would-be tyrants; it depends upon the
presence of those who are willing to resist would-be tyrants. And that is what
seems to be vanishing.
Folks, this is an absolute truism: not
all Christians are friends of liberty; not all pastors are friends of liberty;
not all conservatives are friends of liberty; not all Republicans are friends
of liberty; not all military personnel are friends of liberty; not all
policemen are friends of liberty; not all attorneys are friends of liberty; not
all physicians are friends of liberty; not all teachers and professors are
friends of liberty; and not all gun owners are friends of liberty. Anyone who
refuses to resist the forces of evil that attack our Constitution, Declaration,
and Bill of Rights is no friend of liberty.
For example, I have been a
long-time subscriber to a couple of gun magazines: Guns and Ammo and Handguns.
Both of these magazines are published by the same parent company. When President
Obama and Senator Feinstein attempted to ban semi-automatic rifles and
full-size rifles and pistol magazines earlier this year, I kept waiting for the
editors and writers of these two magazines to sound the clarion call of
resistance. I waited and waited and waited. Nothing. Zero. Zilch. Nada.
Throughout the entire debate, there was not one peep of protest to these
egregious gun control laws proposed by Obama and Feinstein in these magazines.
This in spite of the fact that practically every page of both magazines is
filled with the very arms that would have been banned to the general public had
Obama and Feinstein gotten their way. Had the gun-grabbing tyrants been
victorious, I suppose Guns and Ammo magazine would simply have re-invented
itself in order to fit into the new Amerika in much the same way that so many
companies did in Nazi Germany. I guess they would simply have changed the name
of the magazine to Military and Police Guns and Ammo.
I wrote the publisher of the two
magazines mentioned above and explained why, after so many years as a faithful
subscriber, I was not renewing my subscription. Of course, I received no reply.
And now I know why.

Hawkins filed this report: “In the December issue of Guns & Ammo magazine,
editor Dick Metcalf uses his ‘Backstop’ column to argue that all constitutional
rights need regulation, including the 2nd Amendment.
“TheTruthAboutGuns.com has scanned
and posted a copy of the column online. In it, Metcalf explains why he chose to
address the regulation of constitutional rights: ‘I bring this up because way
too many gun owners still believe that any regulation of the right to keep and
bear arms is an infringement. The fact is that all Constitutional rights are
regulated, always have been, and need to be.’
“Metcalf says he receives ‘bags of
mail every year’ from people complaining of the myriad regulations related to
concealed carry permits. He says these readers ‘typically argue’ that the 2nd
Amendment ‘is all the authority they need’ to keep and bear arms, to carry a
gun with them where they go.
“In response, Metcalf writes: ‘I wonder
whether those same people believe that just anybody should be able to buy a
vehicle and take it out on public roadways without any kind of driver's training,
test, or license.’
“Metcalf misses the point. The 2nd
Amendment protects a natural right; that's why it is not to be infringed.
Owning and operating a vehicle is not a natural right, so comparing it to gun
ownership is like comparing the ability to own and operate an airplane with the
rights to freedom of speech and religion.
“This is an important point because
our Founders' central reason for creating the Bill of Rights was to hedge in a
body of natural rights as off-limits to government regulation and interference.
“The 2nd Amendment says, ‘A well
regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right
to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.’ Metcalf has seized on the words
‘well regulated,’ taking them out of context to the detriment of ‘shall not be
infringed.’”

Hooray for Mr. Hawkins! He has a
grasp of Natural Law. That is something that Dick Metcalf obviously doesn’t
possess. The sad thing is Mr. Metcalf occupies a very trusted and influential
position that should be utilized to protect the Second Amendment. Instead, he
is using his position to help destroy the Second Amendment. Like I said, not
all gun owners are the friends of liberty.
But as long as Guns and Ammo
magazine is rolling in the dough, don’t expect any change. I, for one, am not
going to help pay a gun magazine editor’s salary that is using the money I send
him to use the pages of the magazine to facilitate the destruction of the
liberties that keep my children and grandchildren free. That means I have
kissed my subscription to Guns and Ammo and Handguns magazines goodbye.
By the same token, how long are
Christians today who say they believe in the Second Amendment (and the rest of
the Bill of Rights) going to keep sending their tithes and offerings to these
churches where the pastors refuse to publicly resist these draconian gun
control bills such as were recently introduced by Obama and Feinstein? How long
are they going to keep filling the pews of these do-nothing churches? As long
as these say-nothing pastors see their pews and offering plates full, don’t
expect anything to change.
I will say it plainly: if you
attend a church and didn’t hear your pastor oppose the Obama/Feinstein gun
control bills from the pulpit earlier this year, YOU NEED TO GET OUT OF THAT
CHURCH. The only thing holding this republic together is the people’s right to
keep and bear arms--especially semi-automatic rifles with large-capacity
magazines. By refusing to resist evil, your pastor has become an enemy of
liberty. Wittingly or not, he is helping to put the chains of slavery around
the necks of your children and grandchildren. Why would you stay and support
such a pastor and church?
As Christ was betrayed and rejected
by His “friends,” so, too, the liberties and freedoms of our country are being
betrayed and rejected by its “friends.”
Friends, remember things must get pretty bad for the anti-christ to enter the stage and bring 3 1/2 years of peace and financial security.
Take immediate
steps to protect your wealth . . . NOW! That’s exactly what
many well-respected economists, billionaires, and noted authors are telling you
to do — experts such as Marc Faber, Peter Schiff, Donald Trump, and Robert
Wiedemer. According to them, we are on the verge of another recession, and this
one will be far worse than what we experienced during the last financial crisis.
Marc Faber, the noted Swiss economist and investor, has voiced his concerns for the U.S. economy numerous times during recent media appearances, stating, “I think somewhere down the line we will have a massive wealth destruction. I would say that well-to-do people may lose up to 50 percent of their total wealth.”
When he was asked what sort of odds he put on a global recession happening, the economist famous for his ominous predictions quickly answered . . . “100 percent.”
Faber points out that this bleak outlook stems directly from Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke’s policy decisions, and the continuous printing of new money, referred to as “quantitative easing” in the media.
Faber’s pessimism is matched by well-respected economist and investor Peter Schiff, the CEO of Euro Pacific Capital. Schiff remarks that the stock market collapse we experienced in 2008 “wasn’t the real crash. The real crash is coming.”
Schiff didn’t stop there. Most alarming is his belief that daily life will get dramatically worse for U.S. citizens.
“If we keep doing this policy of stimulus and growing government, it’s just going to get worse for the average American. Our standard of living is going to fall . . . People who are expecting Social Security can’t get all that money. People expecting government pensions can’t get all their money . . . We simply can’t afford to pay them.”
Equally critical of the current government and our nation’s economy is real estate mogul and entrepreneur Donald Trump, who is warning that the United States could soon become a large-scale Spain or Greece, teetering on the edge of financial ruin.
Trump doesn’t hesitate to point out America’s unhealthy dependence on China. “When you’re not rich, you have to go out and borrow money. We’re borrowing from the Chinese and others.”
It is this massive debt that worries Trump the most.
“We are going up to $16 trillion [in debt] very soon, and it’s going to be a lot higher than that before he gets finished,” Trump says, referring to President Barack Obama. “When you have [debt] in the $21-$22 trillion [range], you are talking about a credit downgrade no matter how you cut it.”
In a recent appearance, Trump went to so far as to say the dollar is “going to hell.”
Where Trump, Faber, and Schiff see rising debt, a falling dollar, and a plunging stock market, investment adviser and author Robert Wiedemer sees much more widespread economic destruction.
In a recent interview to talk about his New York Times best-seller Aftershock, Wiedemer says, “The data is clear, 50 percent unemployment, a 90 percent stock market drop, and 100 percent annual inflation… starting in 2013.”
Before you dismiss Wiedemer’s claims as impossible or unrealistic, consider this: In 2006, Wiedemer and a team of economists accurately predicted the collapse of the U.S. housing market, equity markets, and consumer spending that almost sank the United States. They published their research in the book America’s Bubble Economy.
When the interview host questioned Wiedemer’s latest data, the author unapologetically displayed shocking charts backing up his allegations, and then ended his argument with, “You see, the medicine will become the poison.”
The interview has become a wake-up call for those unprepared (or unwilling) to acknowledge an ugly truth: The country’s financial “rescue” devised in Washington has failed miserably.
The blame lies squarely on those whose job it was to avoid the exact situation we find ourselves in, including Bernanke and former Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan, tasked with preventing financial meltdowns and keeping the nation’s economy strong through monetary and credit policies.
At one point, Wiedemer even calls out Bernanke, saying that his “money from heaven will be the path to hell.”
But it’s not just the grim predictions that are causing the sensation in Wiedemer’s video interview. Rather, it’s his comprehensive blueprint for economic survival that’s really commanding global attention.
The interview offers realistic, step-by-step solutions that the average hard-working American can easily follow.
The video was initially screened for a relatively small, private audience. But the overwhelming amount of feedback from viewers who felt the interview should be widely publicized came with consequences, as various online networks repeatedly shut it down and affiliates refused to house the content.
Bernanke and Greenspan certainly would not support Wiedemer publicly, and it soon became apparent mainstream media would not either.

The Fethullah Gulen movement, which
seeks to restore the Ottoman Empire, has found a friend and benefactor in Bill
Gates of Microsoft fame. Mr. Gates is ranked the third wealthiest person on
planet earth.
In 2007, through the Texas High
School Project, the Gates Foundation shelled out $10,550,000 to the Cosmos
Foundation, a Gulen enterprise that operates 25 publicly funded charter schools
in Texas.
The Internal Revenue Service Form
990 for Cosmos shows that the Cosmos Foundation received $41,570,721 from
taxpayers.
At present, there are 85 Gulan
madrassahs (Islamic schools) in the United States, and all operate with public
funding.
At the Gulen schools, students are
indoctrinated in Turkish culture, language, and religion so that they may be of
service in making Fethullah Gulan’s dream of a universal caliphate a reality.
The madrassahs sponsor Turkish clubs, Turkish language societies, Turkish dance
groups, and annual trips to Istanbul.
According to Stephen Schwartz of
the Center for Islamic Pluralism, the 85 Gulen schools advance and promote
Islamic beliefs; present the Ottoman Empire, which lasted from 1299 to 1923, as
a golden age; and serve to rewrite history by denying the Armenian holocaust
under the Turks during World War I.
Many of the teachers at these
schools are Turkish émigrés with questionable credentials. Some possess H-1B
non immigrant visas which should only be granted to individuals who possess
“highly specialized knowledge in a field of human endeavor.” The female faculty
members appear in their classrooms wearing hijabs and traditional Islamic
attire.
Critics can’t understand why the
schools are staffed with imported elementary and secondary school teachers when
thousands of trained and certified American educators are begging for teaching
positions. But are the schools really subversive?
Rachel Sharon-Krespin writes: “His
(Gulen’s) followers target youth in the eighth through twelfth grades, mentor
and indoctrinate them in the ışıkevi, educate them in the Fethullah schools,
and prepare them for future careers in legal, political, and educational
professions in order to create the ruling classes of the future Islamist, Turkish
state.”
Even more telling is a comment from
Nurettin Veren, Gulen’s right hand man for 35 years, who said: “These schools
are like shop windows. Recruitment and Islamization are carried out through
nigh classes.
The use of the Islamic practice of
taqiyya or deception to mask the true nature of the schools has been upheld by
Gulen himself. In a 1999 sermon, the Turkish pasha offered the following advice
to his followers:
You must move in the arteries of
the system without anyone noticing your existence until you reach all the power
centers … until the conditions are ripe, they (the followers) must continue
like this. If they do something prematurely, the world will crush our heads,
and Muslims will suffer everywhere, like in the tragedies in Algeria, like in
1982 and in Syria. Like in the yearly disasters and tragedies in Egypt. The
time is not yet right. You must wait for the time when you are complete and
conditions are ripe, until we can shoulder the entire world and carry it. You
must wait until such time as you have gotten all the state power, until you
have brought to your side all the power of the constitutional institutions in
Turkey. Until that time, any step taken would be too early—like breaking an egg
without waiting the full forty days for it to hatch. It would be like killing
the chick inside. The work to be done is in confronting the world. Now, I have
expressed my feelings and thoughts to you all -in confidence … trusting your
loyalty and secrecy. I know that when you leave here, just as you discard your
empty juice boxes, you must discard the thoughts and the feelings that I
expressed here.
Fethullah Gulen has been called the
“most dangerous Islamist” in the world. He has amassed a fortune – thanks, in
part, to the CIA – of $25 billion. This money has been used to transform the
secular government of Turkey into an Islamic Republic under the Justice and
Democratic Party (Adalet ve Kalkinma, AKP), a party under the Gulen’s control.
Abdullah Gul, Turkey’s first
Islamist President, is a Gulen disciple along with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip
Erdogan, and Yusuf Ziya Ozcan, the head of Turkey’s Council of Higher
Education. Under the AKP, Turkey has transformed from a secular state into an
Islamic country with 85,000 active mosques – one for every 350 citizens – the
highest number per capita in the world, 90,000 imams, more imams than teachers
and physicians – - and thousands of state-run Islamic schools.
Despite the rhetoric of European
Union accession, Turkey has transferred its alliance from Europe and the United
States to Russia and Iran. It has moved toward friendship with Hamas,
Hezbollah, and Syria and created a pervasive anti-Christian, anti-Jewish, and
anti-America animus throughout the populace.
Gulen has also established thousands
of schools throughout central Asia and Europe. Because of their subversive
nature, these schools have been outlawed in Russia and Uzbekistan. Even the
Netherlands, a nation that embraces pluralism and tolerance, has opted to cut
funding to the Gulen schools because of their imminent threat to the social
order.
The Washington Examiner reported on November 15, 2013 that The Affordable Care Acts political position has deteriorated dramatically over the last week. That’s what longtime Obamacare cheerleader blogger Ezra Klein said. On Tuesday the devastating Quinnipiac national poll was released. It showed Barack Obamas approval rating at 39 percent, with his disapproval rating at 54 percent sharply down from 45 percent approval and 49 percent disapproval on Oct. 1, the day the government shutdown began and healthcare.gov went into limited operation.
The
horrendous, multiplied disasters unveiled because the plan began to be
implemented, have brought to light the Republican strategy from October 1-17,
when they shut down the government, primarily because they were demanding that
ObamaCare be shut down. These Republican lawmakers knew full well what
disasters lurked within ObamaCare, so they wanted to ensure that ALL voters
knew that this fiasco was entirely the working of the Democrats.
Moreover,
a near-majority 46 percent said the president knowingly deceived them when he
assured Americans over and over that they could keep their health insurance
plans. There are few names a president can be called that are more damaging
than liar.
Even ethnic groups like the Hispanics and Young Voters
who cast their ballots strongly in the 2012 election for Barack Obama were
turning against him now in droves.
Both
groups rate him negatively on the economy, the federal budget, immigration,
foreign policy and health care ... Obamacare, popular among both groups in
2012, is now an Obama albatross. Young voters oppose it 51 percent to 42
percent and Hispanics 50 percent to 44 percent ... it looks very much like the
astonishingly disastrous Obamacare rollout has moved opinion decisively against

Reuter's reported today, on Nov 19, 2013 that two suicide
bombings rocked Iran's embassy compound in Lebanon on Tuesday, killing at least
23 people including an Iranian cultural attaché and hurling bodies and burning
wreckage across a debris-strewn street. Immediately, an al-Qaeda group claimed
responsibility. But, that announcement did not satisfy the Iranian leadership.
Syria’s
Information Minister Omran Ahed Zoabi said Riyadh and Tel Aviv were to blame
for the explosions outside the Iranian Embassy in the Lebanese capital. He
added that certain countries in the region including Sudi Arabia, Arab states
of the Persian Gulf and Israel seek spread of terrorism in the region.

Many in

beneficiaries. Advocates say consumers shouldn't divulge any information to
unsolicited callers or visitors and should be skeptical of Caller ID, which can
be manipulated.

There over 800
prison camps in the United States, all fully operational and ready to receive
prisoners. They are all staffed and even surrounded by full-time guards, but
they are mostly empty. These camps are to be operated by FEMA (Federal
Emergency Management Agency) should Martial Law need to be implemented in the
United States and all it would take is a presidential signature on a
proclamation and the attorney general’s signature on a warrant to which a list
of names is attached.

Operation Cable Splicer and Garden Plot are the two sub programs
which will be implemented once the Rex 84 program is initiated for its proper
purpose. Garden Plot is the program to control the population. Cable Splicer is
the program for an orderly takeover of the state and local governments by the
federal government. FEMA is the executive arm of the coming police state and
thus will head up all operations. The Presidential Executive Orders already
listed on the Federal Register also are part of the legal framework for this
operation.
The camps all have railroad facilities as well as roads leading
to and from the detention facilities. Many also have an airport nearby. The
majority of the camps can house a population of 20,000 prisoners. Currently,
the largest of these facilities is just outside of Fairbanks, Alaska. The
Alaskan facility is a massive mental health facility and can hold approximately
2 million people.
An iceberg roughly the size of
Singapore, which broke off the Antarctic’s Pine Island Glacier in July, is
now moving away from the coast, NASA researchers said.
The iceberg, was initially held close to the glacier by sea ice,
University of Sheffield’s Grant Bigg told the BBC. But it started moving toward
open water this week. NASA scientists first noticed a crack in the ice nearly two years ago.
Although icebergs move slowly, the large mass could eventually cross
paths with international shipping lanes. The
iceberg can survive in open ocean for a year or longer.
A team of researchers are tracking and predicting the iceberg’s
path. Icebergs as large as this one — 21 by 12 miles — break off glaciers every
two years. As for environmental impact, the freshwater melting off the iceberg
could affect the ocean currents.
A flight was about to take off from Philadelphia heading to Long
Island’s MacArthur Airport when Albert Rizzi said he was confronted by a flight
attendant because his guide dog wouldn’t stay under his seat.
Rizzi said, “We were on the ground for over an hour and 45 minutes
waiting to take off and the dog became a little disgruntled, agitated because
of the vibrations of the plane and inched out from under the seat and was under
my legs.” “The woman came back again and said ‘the dog has to be under the
seat, we’re not going to take off until you get that dog under the seat.’”
Rizzi said the flight attendant later returned and kicked him and
his dog off the flight. That’s when Rizzi said other passengers on board
rallied behind him.
“Security comes on and they go to take this gentleman off the
plane with his dog,” fellow passenger Frank Ohlhorst said. “So when we, the
passengers, realize what was going on, we were like ‘why is this happening?
He’s not a problem.’”
Rizzi said he was “humbled” by the actions of his fellow
passengers. “All the passengers got off the plane and I was so emotionally
moved by that,” Rizzi said. “I was just humbled to believe that people, 35
people, got off the plane angry and upset and yelling at management saying she
needs to be fired today.
All of the passengers ended up taking a bus back to Long Island. U.S.
Airways says it is investigating the incident.
The C.I.A. financial records program, which the officials said was
authorized by provisions in the Patriot Act and overseen by the
Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISA), offers evidence that the extent
of government data collection programs is not fully known and that the national
debate over privacy and security may be incomplete.
Some details
of the C.I.A. financial records program were not clear. But it was confirmed by
several current and former officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity
because the matter is classified.
The data does not include purely domestic transfers or
bank-to-bank transactions, several officials said. Another, while not
acknowledging the program, suggested that the surveillance court had imposed
rules withholding the identities of any Americans from the data the C.I.A.
sees, requiring a tie to a terrorist organization before a search may be run,
and mandating that the data be discarded after a certain number of years. The
court has imposed several similar rules on the N.S.A. call logs program.
Several officials also said more than one other bulk collection
program has yet to come to light.
“The intelligence community collects bulk data in a number of
different ways under multiple authorities,” one intelligence official said.
Dean Boyd, a spokesman for the C.I.A., declined to confirm whether
such a program exists, but said that the agency conducts lawful intelligence
collection aimed at foreign — not domestic — activities and that it is subject
to extensive oversight.
“The C.I.A. protects the nation and upholds the privacy rights of
Americans by ensuring that its intelligence collection activities are focused
on acquiring foreign intelligence and counterintelligence in accordance with
U.S. laws,” he said.
Juan Zarate, a White House and Treasury official under President
George W. Bush, said that unlike telecommunications information, there has
generally been less sensitivity about the collection of financial data, in part
because the government already collects information on large transactions under
the Bank Secrecy Act.
“There is a longstanding legal baseline for the U.S. government to
collect financial information,” said Mr. Zarate, who is also the author of “Treasury’s
War,” about the crackdown on terrorist financing. He did not acknowledge the
C.I.A. program.
Orders for business records from the surveillance court generally
prohibit recipients from talking about them. A spokeswoman for one large
company that handles money transfers abroad, Western Union, did not directly
address a question about whether it had been ordered to turn over records in
bulk, but said that the company complies with legal requirements to provide
information.
“We collect consumer information to comply with the Bank Secrecy
Act and other laws,” said the spokeswoman, Luella Chavez D’Angelo. “In doing
so, we also protect our consumers’ privacy.”
In recent months, there have been hints in congressional
testimony, declassified documents and litigation that the N.S.A. program —
which was disclosed by Edward J. Snowden, a former N.S.A. contractor — is not
unique in collecting records involving Americans.
For example, the American Civil Liberties Union is fighting a
Freedom of Information Act lawsuit for documents related to Section 215 of the
Patriot Act, the provision that allows the government to compel companies to
turn over business records for counterterrorism purposes. After the government
declassified the N.S.A. phone records program, it has released many documents
about it in response to the suit.
But the government has notified the A.C.L.U. that it is
withholding two Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court rulings invoking
Section 215 — one dated Aug. 20, 2008, and the other Nov. 23, 2010 — because
they discuss matters that remain classified, according to Alexander Abdo, an
A.C.L.U. lawyer. “It suggests very strongly that there are other programs of
surveillance that the public has a right to know about,” Mr. Abdo said.
In addition, a Justice Department “white paper”
on the N.S.A.’s call records program, released in August, said that
communications logs are “a context” in which the “collection of a large volume
of data” is necessary for investigators to be able to analyze links between
terrorism suspects and their associates. It did not say that call records are
the only context that meets the criteria for bulk gathering.
In hearings on Capitol Hill, government officials have repeatedly
avoided saying that phone logs — which include date, duration and numbers of
phone calls, but not their content — are the only type of data that would
qualify for bulk collection under the Patriot Act provision. In a
little-noticed exchange late in an Oct. 3 hearing before the Senate Judiciary
Committee, Gen. Keith B. Alexander, the N.S.A. director, appeared to go
further.
At the hearing, Senator Mazie K. Hirono, Democrat of Hawaii, asked
General Alexander and James R. Clapper Jr., the director of national
intelligence, a sweeping question: “So what are all of the programs run by the
N.S.A. or other federal agencies” that used either Section 215 of the Patriot
Act or another surveillance law that allows warrantless wiretapping of phone
and emails?
General Alexander responded by describing, once again, the
N.S.A.’s call records program, adding, “None of that is hid from you.” Mr.
Clapper said nothing.
Then, moments later, General Alexander interjected that he was
talking only about what the N.S.A. is doing under the Patriot Act provision and
appearing to let slip that other agencies are operating their own programs.
“You know, that’s of course a global thing that others use as
well, but for ours, it’s just that way,” General Alexander said.
In September, the Obama administration declassified and released a
lengthy opinion by Judge Claire Eagan of the surveillance court, written a
month earlier and explaining why the panel had given legal blessing to the call
log program. A largely overlooked passage of her ruling suggested that the
court has also issued orders for at least two other types of bulk data
collection.
Specifically, Judge Eagan noted that the court had previously
examined the issue of what records are relevant to an investigation for the
purpose of “bulk collections,” plural. There followed more than six lines that
were censored in the publicly released version of her opinion.
Lawmakers on the House and Senate Judiciary Committees have been
trying to gain more information about other bulk collection programs.
In September, Representative Jim Sensenbrenner, Republican of
Wisconsin and an author of the original Patriot Act, sent a letter to Attorney
General Eric H. Holder Jr. asking if the administration was collecting bulk
records aside from the phone data. An aide said he had yet to get a response.
Even lawmakers on the Intelligence Committees have indicated that they are not
sure they understand the entire landscape of what the government is doing in
terms of bulk collection.
Senators Dianne Feinstein of California and Saxby Chambliss of
Georgia, the top Democrat and Republican on the Senate Intelligence Committee,
recently sent a classified letter to Mr. Clapper asking for a full accounting
of every other national security program that involves bulk collection of data
at home or abroad, according to government officials.

Daniel 7:7-8, which foretold that all nations at the End of the Age would be
reorganized into 10 kingdomss. Thus, the North America Free Trade Agreement
(NAFTA) of 1992 has now become the North American Union, Kingdom #1 of the Club
of Rome Plan.
"Currently, there are 12 countries negotiating in
secret to create this regional trade agreement that some have called NAFTA on steroids. President Obamas fascination with intertwining the
economic welfare of the United States with China is perhaps one reason a recent
commentator called the TPP 'another disaster from a proven liar'.
There are several real problems with TPP:
1) "Barack Obama is asking for fast track
authority for the Trans Pacific Partnership. Consider that to be another
version of 'you have to pass this to see what is in it'. With fast track
authority, there will be no hearings on this treaty. It will be negotiated then
sent to the Senate for a simple up or down vote. The Senate will not be able to
provide advice and consent because they cannot offer amendments under fast
track."
The last time the Congress was told to vote
"Yes" on a bill they had not yet seen was the Patriot Act on 2001,
when President Bush shoved this dictatorial bill down the throats of compliant
Congressmen.
2) "Less than one fifth of the Trans Pacific
Partnership deals with trade. The remainder of the treaty governs a myriad of
things."
3) "Under the proposals of the TPP, American
sovereignty would be eroded. American courts would be inferior to foreign trade
courts and disputes between American citizens and foreign corporations would
not be litigated in American courts but in these trade tribunals. "
