Middle East/Persia Update

The Roman Legions Carry Jewish Treasures From The Temple Thru Rome
This Carving Is From the Triumphant Roman Arch in Rome

The Prophet Daniel
Saudi Arabia There is unease in Washington and Mideast capitals today because newly-appointed Saudi intelligence chief Prince Bandar bin Sultan may have been assassinated by an Iranian bomb. If Prince Bandar has been assassinated this will be our Archduke Ferdinand moment because I do not think the Saudis will take this lying down, they will want Arab revenge served cold. Saudi rulers now know the Iranians have penetrated the highest and most closely guarded circles of Saudi government. The unconfirmed reports of Bandar’s death attribute the motive to revenge by Iran and Syria for the bomb explosion in Damascus which killed four of Assad’s top generals. Prince Bandar is the son of the late crown prince Sultan, has not been seen in public since Saudi General Intelligence headquarters in Riyadh was hit by a bomb blast on July 23 killing Bandar’s deputy, Mashaal al-Qarni.
In 2003 and 2004, Iran via Al Qaeda, initiated a wave of bombing attacks inside the Saudi kingdom. Iran supplied Al Qaeda terror squads with intelligence, logistics, explosives and money for the operations. Al Qaeda experts ran those operations. One of them, Saif al-Adal, was later freed by Iran and is now based in Pakistan. Iran’s terror masters may have gone back to their tested stratagem of hiring Al Qaeda terrorists for an insider jobs against the Saudis and other enemies.

As I have said for several months Iran will do anything to keep their foremost Arab ally, Syrian ruler Assad, in power. Furthermore, Iran’s ability to strike deep into the heart of the Saudi capital is meant to serve as an object lesson for their Middle East enemies that Iran’s arm is long enough to reach inside any of their families and capitals.
This news of Bandar’s death, if true, has momentous strategic significance. Washington and other Saudi Arabian friends are groping in the dark. The absence of any word from the Saudi government increases the trepidation in Washington and among concerned parties in the Middle East. Keep in mind the Sunni Saudis want to smack the Shia Iranians as much or more than the Israelis.
The video below is about U.S. Supporting the Syrian rebels that include members of Al Qaeda.

A Syrian govt. official told Aaron Klein of World Net Daily that Russian intelligence has information that U.S. troops are in Turkey near the country’s border with Syria. The Russians told the Syrians they observed American forces taking part in Turkish military measures to secure the Syria-Turkey borders. The information about a U.S. military presence in Turkey has led to a debate within the Syrian leadership about whether to move the Syrian military to its highest alert level. Currently, the Syrian army is on its second highest alert. This is not the first time the American military has been accused of aiding the insurgency targeting Bashar al-Assad’s regime. In February, several Egyptian and Arab security officials reported the U.S., Turkey and Jordan were running a training base for the Syrian rebels in the Jordanian town of Safawi in the country’s northern desert region. There is growing collaboration between the Syrian opposition and al-Qaida as well. There are now widespread reports of al-Qaida fighters among the ranks of the the U.S.-supported Free Syrian Army.
In Iran last Friday the Supreme Leader Khameneni held what he called “the last war council on Friday. He told the council Iran would be at war in weeks. Iran has begun the largest mega-fortification project in Iran’s history to protect its nuclear installations. If war begins, Iran would also launch missile attacks against Israel, U.S. bases in the Middle East and Saudi Arabian oil export terminals. Hamas and Hezbollah would also launch attacks against Israel. Meanwhile, the U.S. Air Force unveiled it largest bunker buster a 30,000 lb bomb that can penetrate 60’ of reinforced concrete.
Washington sources report that the month of October is most mentioned these days for an attack upon Iran. Persian Gulf leaders prefer an American to an Israeli strike. High-ranking Saudi princes have been telling Western officials that they received U.S. assurance that the Israelis would strike first and the Americans second.
The AP reported on July 28 quoting anonymous sources as stating, “The CIA considers Israel its No. 1 counterintelligence threat in the agency’s Near East Division,” The Obama regime does not trust Netanyahu and Netanyahu does not trust Obama.
On the technology front, yesterday the Palestinians fired an anti-tank missile (ATM) at an Israeli tank from Gaza. The ATM bounced off an Israeli tank because the Israelis have developed a tank defense system called “Wind Jacket” that neutralizes enemy ATM attacks.
I think it’s time for a brief history lesson, courtesy of Daniel chap 11: verses 40-45.
God says in Dan 11:40 And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.
Verse 41 He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.
Verse 42 He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape.
Verse 43 But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps.
Verse 44 But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many.
Verse 45 And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.
When Alexander the Great died in 323 BC, the Greek Empire was divided up among his four generals. Cassander took the Eastern European territories around the Adriatic Sea. Seleucus took Turkey, Iraq and Syria. Lysimachus got the Eastern provinces stretching from Iran to India, and Ptolemy got Egypt. Cassander is not mentioned in Daniel 11, and Seleucus later defeated his friend Lysimachus, acquiring Iran and the Eastern Empire in the process. The story throughout Daniel 11 is of the Kings of the North (the Seleucids) and the Kings of the South (the Ptolemys) fighting each other for control of the known world over a 150 years. These are the Kings in view in Daniel 11:40-45.
Of course, when Daniel wrote chapter 11 in about 539BC these men hadn’t even been born yet, and Alexander’s Kingdom was still 200 years away. But in an overwhelming demonstration of God’s knowledge of the future, there are 135 historically verified fulfilled prophecies in the first 35 verses of Daniel 11, all written from 200-400 years before the event. That lends credibility to what God had Daniel write about the end times beginning in verse 36. But for now, we’ll focus on verses 40-45.
At the same time that the Kings of the East from Rev. 16:12 begin their march, another large force from the North begins mobilizing. Earlier, the King of the North, (mainly Iran, Iraq, Turkey and Syria) will have joined up with the King of the South (Egypt) to oppose the anti-Christ’s move to control the Middle East, but he will overcome them. Only Jordan, the hiding place of the Jews, will remain unscathed. So this new threat from the north can’t be the already defeated King of the North.
Reports of the movement of this huge combat force from the East and North will greatly alarm the anti-Christ. He will wonder what are they up to? Is this a Russian Chinese alliance that the world has long feared? Or is it going to be every man for himself?
Setting up his headquarters in Jerusalem the anti-Christ readies his troops to meet them in the last great battle for planet Earth. By some estimates, up to 400 million combatants will be involved before it’s all over. The blood from their slain bodies forms the river that flows from Megiddo in central Israel all the way to Petra in Jordan, about 175 miles away. See (Rev. 14:20)
In Isaiah 11:11 we’re told there will be two re-gatherings of Israel. From history, we know the first was after the Babylonian captivity, and from Isaiah 11 we can see that the second one will usher in the end times. That one has already begun and is continuing. There is no mention of a third re-gathering in the Bible.
In Amos Chap 9: verses 11-15 God says: In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old: Amos 9:11-15 contains wording also used in Acts 15: verses13-18, where it applies to the rebuilding of the Temple following the rapture of the Church. The prophecy ends with a promise that Israel will never again be uprooted.
In Ezekiel the Sovereign LORD says: I will take the Israelites out of the nations where they have gone. I will gather them from all around and bring them back into their own land. Although Ezekiel wrote these words while the Israelites were in Babylon, they were not fulfilled in the nation’s return from exile there. Like Isaiah before him (Isaiah 11:11) Ezekiel was speaking of the second and final return. Therefore in 1948, when Israel took its place among the nations of the world again for the first time in nearly 2000 years, students of prophecy recognized the fulfillment of the primary sign that the end of the Church age was imminent. Jesus said that some from the generation being born when this happened would still be alive when He returns See (Matt. 24:34). Both Psalm 90:10 and Isaiah 23:15 hint that an average Biblical life span is about 70 years. Since 64 years have passed since Israel became a nation again after being absent for nearly 1900 years, students of prophecy have cause to believe that the end of the Church Age is imminent.
Ultimately everything that’s not from God really is from Satan. Even the things of this world that we think we’ve freely chosen are really only an illusion, because if they’re not drawing us toward God they’re drawing us toward His enemy. There is no independent position. Do we really believe that by excluding God from our society we’ve gained more freedom for ourselves? Does the evidence around us point to the conclusion that we’ve only acquired a different master, one who does not have our best interests at heart.
Look around you. Are we healthier? Are we happier? Are we more secure? Are our children better off? Can they look forward to a life of opportunity and promise? Can we trust our elected officials not to betray us? Have the prospects for the future improved? Is there any evidence at all that life is better in a society that’s breaking free of God? People ask me if I think it’s too late for the US, but I think a better question would be, “Is it too late for the world?”
King David had our day in view when he prophesied, in Psalm 2:1-6 Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the Lord and against his Anointed One.“Let us break their chains,” they say, “and throw off their fetters.”The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them. Then he rebukes them in his anger and terrifies them in his wrath, saying, “I have installed my King on Zion, my holy hill.” While this prophecy will see its ultimate fulfillment in the Battle of Armageddon, it’s reasonable to conclude that the world is already in open rebellion against God. Can His wrath be far behind?
1 Peter 1:13-16 contains good advice for us upon whom the end of the age has come. We’re to prepare our minds for action, be self-controlled, and set our hope fully on the grace to be given us when Jesus Christ is revealed. To me this means get ready to leave, don’t panic, and trust in the Lord’s promise to rescue us before His wrath comes crashing down (see 1 Thes. 1:10).
