Tea Party - Alive & Well
How we lookin? Not bad! Things are lookin up in the heartland and fruited plain! We had a North Carolina
Primary victory. There, a Constitutional Amendment banning gay marriage and same-sex civil unions was passed. North Carolina is now one of 30 states in the nation to have a gay marriage ban.
WEST VIRGINIA
VOTE FOR JUDD HE'S NO DUD!
JUDD - IT TAKES A FELON TO KNOW A FELON!
TURN A NEW THIEF - VOTE AGAINST THE COMMANDER IN THIEF!
In West Virginia, a Federal inmate, Keith Judd, squared off against President Obama in that state's Democratic Primary. I think it speaks to the president's popularity (or lack of it) when a no-name, federal inmate, incarcerated out of state in Texas, can garner 40 percent of the vote in a state that typically leans Left! The president didn't even break 60 percent!
But the results in the Indiana Republican Primary are HUGE! There, the State Treasurer Richard Mourdock beat six-term incumbent senator, Dick Lugar. Mourdock was backed by the Tea Party, who felt Lugar, 80, was out of touch and too moderate. Mourdock's supporters painted Lugar as "Obama's favorite Republican."
Lugar will most likely be the only incumbent senator to lose renomination this year.
These are potent reminders that we are on the right track, and that a majority of the country agrees with the Tea Party principles of Limited Government, Fiscal Responsibility and Free Markets.
