Fires in Santa Barbara, CA
Biden Insults Israel
US Vice President Joe Biden and Senator John Kerry stepped up pressure on Israel’s new government on Tuesday to accept the goal of a Palestinian state and halt the expansion of Jewish settlements on the occupied land.

Biden spoke at the annual policy conference of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and said, “Israel’s security is non-negotiable but Israel has to work toward a two-state solution. The US would continue to provide Israel the assistance it needs and allow it to make its own judgments about what it must do to defend itself. You’re not going to like my saying this, but do not build more settlements, dismantle existing outposts and allow Palestinians the freedom of movement.” Here is my translation of what Biden said: You Israelis will do what Obama tells you or else and I am lying to you about your security, you will learn to live with murderous Muslims.

Biden called on the Arab states to support and fund Palestinian security and other institutions in the West Bank. The radical terrorist group Hamas controls the Gaza Strip and routinely attacks Fatah, Mahmoud Abba’s group.

Biden added, “Now is the time for the Arab states to make meaningful gestures to show the Israeli leadership and the Israeli people that the promise of ending Israel’s isolation in the region is real and genuine. They must take action now.” Here is my translation of what Arabs will tell Obama: Sure we will do a peace treaty with Israel on our terms. Mr. Biden, a peace treaty with Hamas, Iran or Hizbullah isn’t worth the paper it is written on.

John Kerry, a Democrat, made specific pleas to the Arab states when he spoke to the conference. He urged the Arab states to start “treating Israel like a normal country, end the boycott, let El Al fly over their countries and meet Israeli leaders.” Kerry added, “lack of support from the Arab states” was a key reason for the failure of the Palestinian-Israeli peace talks in 2000 and the years of violence. My translation: Mr. Kerry some of these Arabs are Nazis bent on pushing the Jews into sea.

Kerry welcomed the Arab peace initiative of 2002, which called for normalizing ties with Israel in exchange for the Jewish state ending the occupation of Arab lands seized in 1967. Kerry said, “Arabs cannot wait for Israel to make all the sacrifices” for improving relations, Kerry said. “They (Arabs) should start doing so right now.”

Biden also focused on the Obama administration’s efforts to persuade Iran to abandon its nuclear program, which Israel sees as a threat to its existence. Biden said, “We will pursue direct, principled diplomacy with Iran with the overriding goal of preventing it from acquiring nuclear weapons. The US will approach Iran initially in the spirit of mutual respect. We want Iran to take its rightful place in the community of nations politically and economically.” My translation: We will talk to the Iranians like we have talked to North Koreans. We will talk forever and in the end accomplish nothing. Mr. Biden have you read about “twelvers?” The mullahs and theocrats in Iran are not rational human beings. They want chaos, they want apocalypse now. The Obama administration is violating the first principle of diplomacy: know your enemy.
In response to Biden and Kerry, Hamas leader Khaleed Meshaal said that Hamas could support a two-state solution with Israel based on the 1967 borders, but repeated it was not prepared to recognize the Jewish state. Mr. Biden and Kerry listen to Meshaal he will never recognize Israel.

Meshaal said, “We support a two-state solution on the 1967 borders, based on a long-term truce,” he told the NYT. “This includes East Jerusalem, the dismantling of settlements and the right of return of the Palestinian refugees. Asked as to what was meant by “long-term,” Meshaal said it meant “10 years.”

It seems that when Meshaal mentions a 10 year peace treaty with Israel he is referring to the brief peace treaty ushered in by the anti-Christ between Israel and its enemies. This is the false peace the apostle John wrote about in the Book of Revelation. Once again Meshaal refuses to acknowledge Israel’s right to exist. So the Obama administration expects Israel to give up land in exchange for no security and no right to exist, only an Utopian Democratic socialist would do such a thing!

Furthermore, Israel would be overwhelmed if all the Arabs returned to Israel. Khaleed, what about all the Jews kicked out of Muslim lands in 1948 and since? Do the 800,000 Jews get to return to their homes? Do they get their property back?

Meanwhile, our politicians are bringing the wrath of God down on the United States. It is not a coincidence that each time President Obama, Joe Biden, John Kerry or someone else in the administration talks about giving up Israel’s land that severe weather or some other catastrophe batters the United States.

For example, an out-of-control, wind-driven wildfire bore down on Santa Barbara on Wednesday, destroying some 20 homes in the foothills, forcing thousands of residents to evacuate and injuring three firefighters.

The fire, which ignited in the dry brush on Tuesday and might be arson, has blackened some 500 acres around Santa Barbara. The fire has left behind burned out shells where multimillion-dollar mansions once stood. At least 20 homes have been burned to the ground.

Other neighborhoods are in jeopardy as more than 900 firefighters struggle to make headway against flames whipped by hot, dry Santa Ana winds through steep and sometimes inaccessible canyons.

Fire spokesman David Sadecki said, "We are in a state of extreme emergency, " this blaze is very difficult to fight because of the "extreme weather." Temperatures are over 100 degrees Fahrenheit and winds are gusting at up to 50 miles per hour.

Fourteen strike teams, including 70 engines and three helicopters, battled the blaze. The helicopters, normally grounded after dark, continued dropping water on the fire for much of the night.

The three firefighters suffered burns and respiratory injuries when their engine was engulfed in flame. Their hoses burned through as they tried to protect a home.

California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger declared a state of emergency for Santa Barbara County.

The fire slowed as winds eased late on Wednesday night but officials worried that it was burning in the direction of downtown Santa Barbara and residents were told they might need to evacuate overnight.

The firefighters were hoping for a break from the weather on Thursday, but weathermen predicted that the Santa Ana winds, which blow in from the California desert, would persist at least another day.

Santa Barbara County asked for aid from fire crews across the state and they expected help some 100 engines and 400 firefighters, although other California communities were keeping a wary on their own dry hillsides. Approximately 38% of California has been under drought conditions for the last three years.

The fire began Tuesday afternoon in the foothills above San Roque Canyon and grew quickly grew. Six months ago, a wind-driven, 2,000-acre blaze destroyed more than 200homes in Santa Barbara and neighboring Montecito.

After the presidential election on 4 November 2008 homosexuals marched throughout California protesting the defeat of proposition 8 outlawing homosexual marriage. Shortly thereafter huge fires break out in L.A. area. Since June 2008 fires in California have cost the state over $300 million. The state of California is now over $250 million in debt from fires.

Elsewhere, crews near Ft. Huachuca and Sierra Vista, AZ were battling a wildfire that had burned four or five homes and injured one person. The fire had charred about 4,200 acres of rolling grassland, dry brush and scattered trees near Fort Huachuca, and containment was rated at zero late Tuesday. Three homes and several vehicles and outbuildings were torched.

Severe weather has pummeled Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia. These five states have been hit with 30 tornadoes since Friday. There is flooding from Oklahoma to West Virginia. A micro blast collapsed the Dallas Cowboys practice tent and paralyzed a coach.

A Derecho, two are pictured above, is a deadly and spectacular weather phenomenon that has also appeared. A Derecho is a straight long line of thunderstorms with extreme winds. Tornadoes are vertical in nature while a Derecho is horizontal in nature. A Derecho can extend for 800 miles and can be 250 miles wide with downward winds of 130 MPH. Derechos can travel at 50 to 70 MPH and keep going for days.

Huge thunderstorms are expected Thursday from Dallas, TX to Atlanta, GA. These thunderstorms will pack damaging, winds, torrential downpours with heavy flooding, large hail and tornadoes

The following cities could also post a record for highest temperature on 7 May:
Orlando, FL 94
Laredo, TX 109
Lubbock, TX 102
Albuquerque, NM 93
Midland, TX 108

Bottom Line: We are in desperate need of prayers for our nation on this National Day of Prayer. Lord, we ask for your forgiveness for all of our sins. The pace of supernatural events is picking up in intensity and each of us needs to be prepared for Yeshua's glorious and triumphant return!
